well, since Im still finished the garage, plaster and drywalling. no trains for there yet. so, I begged my wife.... one more year for the village upstairs. permission granted! (secretly, they love it) lol.
Its a 4x8, 2x4 frame and 1/2" ply. this year. 2 parts used from last year. an outer loop and inner loop raised up 1 inch on foam. then an upper level to fit the buildings. so supports made to hold the upper. upper is 1/4" ply on 3x4" frame. lightweight. going to run a PCC or trolley up top. the lower will have train station and skating scene. Maybe a pond with the village buildings surrounding it, like a wharf or something. Some of the buildings I have for village are of coastal theme.
