They are running or testing the older steam engine on the Cog railway in Colorado Springs. Any one have video of it operating. The rail cam shows the movement, but only from the depot.

CHOOCHOOPAUL,
I was just out there and learned that they are prepping the old steam goat for a very limited number of short runs (1/4 mile or less) up Pike's Peak this summer as an anniversary celebration. They have one older car to pull behind the goat, and that car will only hold twenty people. Cost will be $20 per person.
My ride in the newer equipment was only to the 12,000 foot elevation because they were still getting snow in mid-May up at top. Even at 12,000 feet, all my wife and I could see was snow and fog. Railroad can't be faulted for weather, so no refunds if train runs.

In the 1950's we made the ride up behind...er..in front of..steam. If it was steam I might bother to do it again.
Riding the Pikes Peak Cog Railway is a great experience any time, but steam would add extra desirability.
It's only 350 miles from here (not a long drive for west Texans). I need to look into this. Thanks for the information.
