So I have a very weird issue that I "think" I know the answer but I would like to confirm with Others.
I currently have a http://www.mthtrains.com/content/30-2664-1 MTH NS SD-60 with ProtoSound2
That has been in storage for a couple of years now and came out in 2006.
Fired it up just the other day and noticed some weird issues right away.
Everytime I "startup" the engine. I don't get Cab Lights, Directional Light, Headlights, Whistle, Bell or PFA sounds. ( But I can go Forward, Reverse and the Engine startup sounds work...)
If I do a "Feature" reset in the MTH Remote. I can get it all back working again until I power off the tracks, then it's right back to square one again.
So I opened the Shell to check things out, first thing I noticed was the 8.4v Battery inside ( instead of the newer battery) and the Barrel Type Charging connector at the bottom of the Engine. ( i though the PS2 engines had the newer connector and batteries) even in the Manual it list's it as the newer battery....
( I will confirm with pictures when I get home from work, for those who are curious)
So back to my original though, i believe the battery in the Engine has finally died for good. WOuld a "dead" battery cause erratic behavior like that?
Can you still get replacements?
