Hi there Switcher Saturday crew!

If you can appreciate the need for an A5, instead of an Allegheny,  or think an SD9 might be divine, but an SD70 is just too heavy, you found the right thread. From the old school small steamers to modern modular diesels and everything in between,  switcher locomotives are the nimble jack of all trades of railroading.

For this weekend's kickoff we have ETS mini-mallet heading through Tin Town with a load of important supplies.

So please, share your photos, pictures, stories, etc.  Just keep it somehow Switcher related, and use pictures you have permission to post here.

Have fun and have a great weekend everyone!!!

Good morning fellow switcher fans!!  Thanks JHZ563 for notching out the throttle and getting us rolling today!  Love that mallet  Great photos you all have posted!!   Have a terrific weekend everyone!!

Today on the FJSR the company photographer gives us photos of switchers large and small.  First is a Reading Train Master.  Train Masters were a all around locomotive doing everything from pushing cars over the hump in a yard to pulling passenger trains and fast freights too.  IMG_0643

Well everyone, we are really off to a great SwSat with all the super pictures.  This morning, my input is a Marx offering that appeared at about the height of the "space craze" - remember Sputnik went up in October 1957 and this train set was offered by Marx from 1959-1964, The "Cape Canaveral Express".  So here is the Marx answer to the rocket craze.

The 1798 GE 70 ton  "Cape Canaveral Express" locomotive offered 1959-1964

His train including the "rocket fuel" tanker, missile launching flat, "danger" gondola and "computing" caboose.

The full train set.  I am missing the missile (it was launched - ) but the soldier at the launch station is still diligently standing his post.

Best wishes for a great weekend

Great photos, everyone. Nothing for me today. We had a late night last night and didn’t get to bed until 4am.  I’m finding out that these old bones can’t exactly handle that type of party scene any longer. Maybe after I drag myself out of bed I’ll get some decent shots to share, but that honey do list is now piling up and threatening to cut into college ball viewtime. Can’t have that, LOL!

Looking great gang!

Since I love to mix and match, here's my K-Line Porter with Flyer coaches.  Switchers take all assignments after all😁.

Although I haven't said it in a while,  remember that Switcher Saturday is open all week, with a new thread starting every Saturday morning or late Friday night.
