#SwitcherSaturday is back!!!!

Lots of us out there love switchers (shifters, docksiders, yard goats, etc.), so lets keep #SwitcherSaturday (a.k.a. SWSAT) rolling!

A huge THANK YOU to Silver Lake for keeping this alive for the last two weeks when I was on travel, thank you very much!

Today at the Murnane house we've got my Williams GP30 NYC #6121 on switching duty. This is the "largest" switcher I have and I'm pretty certain GP30's are not 100% switchers, but I love the thing so it's getting some time on my workbench dogbone loop this weekend.

While I was away I spent some time in Long Island with family but my "train time" was limited. I found out there is a new train museum open near my Dad's house (Oyster Bay Railroad Museum) but the hours didn't work out for a visit.  I also spotted a couple diesel switchers (Long Island livery) sitting in a yard on Atlantic Avenue in Richmond Hill (Queens), but I was driving and couldn't pull over for pics.  If anyone lives in Queens it'd be great if they could snap some pictures of them (assuming they are still just sitting there).

I did stop at Trainland in Long Island, here is a picture of their TrainWorx layout, the thing is fantastic.

I hope everyone enjoys their weekend and if you get a chance, please post some pictures or video of your favorite switchers!

Best...Rich Murnane

p.s. Miss the post on Saturday? NO BIG DEAL, just keep posting pictures of your favorites until the next #SwitcherSaturday

Welcome back Murnane!

This week in honor of moving uptown I'm posting images of Erie Railroads small but interesting operation that was not actually in Harlem but in the Bronx the Harlem Transfer Co.

The two steamer images are actually of the same engine with and without the dummy car body.  I think I have the full roster in the post in chronological order.

Simply the best section every Saturday at this Forum.

Dave, LBR

Great pictures everyone!

Hey Steamer Dave, I'm glad you missed me! ;-)

RE: the 44 tonner, I was looking at the Pennsy one at TrainLand last weekend and I was oh-so-close to buying it, but then I would have spent all the $ in my wallet and I would have gone hungry all weekend during my trip, which I guess would have been OK, I could use a "fast" diet!  Christmas is around the corner, maybe if I'm good Santa will bring one for me.

Enjoy the weekend everyone, I'll follow up later today!

Best...Rich

Hey trumptrain, great pictures and video!  Please let me know if you ever want to sell that Baltimore & Annapolis RR switcher, I live about 1/2 mile from the B&A trail and would love to have that engine in my collection!

All the best...Rich

Hi Rich -  Thanks for your compliments of my photos and video!  Also thanks for getting this thread going!  I really do enjoy it tremendously!!

The Baltimore and Annapolis SW9 is unfortunately not for sale ... at least in the immediate future.  I looked for that locomotive for several years ( and to date I've only every seen one listed on E - bay) I bought it from Beth Marshal of Public Delivery Track when they used to display/sell at the Great Scale Model Train Show in Timonium.

I'm contemplating having it upgraded to Proto 2.  I have two B&A cabooses as well.

You might consider putting a WTB call out to others on the forum ( if have not already)  AND I'll keep my eyes peeled for ya too  I look forward to this coming Saturday's Switcher Saturday!
