It's #SwitcherSaturday Time!!!!

Lots of us out there love switchers (shifters, docksiders, yard goats, critters, etc.), so lets keep #SwitcherSaturday (a.k.a. SWSAT) rolling!

If you missed last week's SWSAT, you should go take a look!

Today at the Murnane house we have my NYC #8244 RS1 (LionChief Plus) shifting around an old boxcar.

Yay! SWSat is on!

Great Start this week.

This week I took a clinic on making switches using the Fast Track tools. It seems a little daunting especially the growing additional hands to make the frog but I hope to dive in to rolling my own soon.

Here are some pics of MetroNorth at Mott Haven the Crane and the GP are always stationed here for emergencies.B4CCE9C3-0E18-4E2E-8E18-2CA8B38C5FE916E95C0B-E3E1-47B3-98BA-8C34B9567DBF0A01920A-08EC-4A47-966C-558D2CA0149B

Good morning SWSAT friends   Great photos guys  You have not already done so check out the latest issue of Classic Trains.  The entire issue is pretty much devoted to switchers, especially GE seventy tonners, and also forty four tonners plus others.  Some very nice photos and great reading too

Well, I have nothing but re-runs for this week.  It's been quite busy work wise, so I've not been able to get to the layout to take any new photos.  Have a wonderfully fun and creative week everyone

Happy Switcher Saturday everyone!

My contributions this week are both B&O related. Here is my recent acquisition, my MTH Dockside is seen using (free) Adobe Photoshop Express. I wasn't sure which one I liked better, so I included both.

Also, not specifically switcher related, but there is a tie (bad pun)...a B&O freight station sign that I recently bought on eBay.

Andy/SILVERLAKE, That is a nice looking Dockside. I really like the weathering on it. You know, I probably can't buy every Dockside that I see!

I know but it is fun to try.....

HaHa

Seriously though Tom there was a version of the C16 that Walthers made in O scale that had a tender. Two of these prototype engines had no saddle tank and ran with tenders. Just something to keep an eye out for. They come up on Ebay occasionally.

On Saturday mornings after checking in on SWSAT, I sit down and watch, The Henry Ford Innovation Nation with Mo Rocca. Today the morning intro has a familiar sight in the back round. My favorite real switcher. I grabbed the camera and got these 2 photos. Great to see Mo starting the whole viewing audience off on a SWSAT  Saturday!   Azgary100_5206100_5207Moto g4 Pics 144

Great stuff this week guys, I had chores to do all morning and then took kid #1 to see "Avengers" - we managed to not cry at the end (no spoilers, but let's just say it wasn't one of those "all is we'll at the end kind of movies).

I need help "running" SWSAT for the next three weeks (lacrosse tournaments for kid #2 and a couple other family things), any takers?

It's easy to do, just post early Saturday morning (or late Friday night), call it Switcher Saturday with the date in the subject, and make sure it's in the right "forum".  If you mess up, no big deal, some of the mess-ups I've done include:  posting on the wrong day (Friday), posting in the wrong forum (for sale forum, man that was a mess), posting the wrong date in the subject, submitting a post twice (no idea how that happened), almost forgetting one time, etc....

Tom/MNCW,  Andy/SilverLake, and Patrick/TrumpTrain have helped in the past, but I figured I'd ask you guys to see if there are any others who want to try.  Another option might be just to rename today's switcher saturday to Switcher Saturday ALL JUNE 2018 and just keep it rolling, you guys let me know what you think.

Thanks and thanks for all the posts, you guys are awesome...Rich

Rich,

Looks like I will be the caboose in this arrangement, taking June 23rd. As always, I guarantee you will get your money's worth (in other words, not much!).
