I have heard stories of people aging trains by leaving them underground for a week. Now I see it is fact!

It isn't even LIONEL just a cheap cast iron reproduction.

It looks like an ancient artifact from an archaeological dig. Maybe it is! There were trains thousands of years ago!

If there is any metal left under all the rust, it be a real accomplishment to restore it by talented folks. Maybe CTT or OGR should issue the challenge.

I saw a restoration of some really junk passenger cars that were restored better then new by some Hollywood set producers, so it can be done.

I think it's one of the King Tut artifacts that didn't make the US tour back in the 70's.

Wow, that reminds me of the 91 Mazda Probe GL that I bought recently. Twenty years of neglect plus PA winters will do that.

Yes, plus the previous owner apparently never cleaned the underbody. The fuel filter, which is right out in the open in the engine bay unlike the one on the later KL V6, was the original with it's F2 part number when I bought the car two months ago. No excuse for neglect like that IMO.

I put it in my watch list. I want to see if it sells or not. Any bets?

If you sand blasted it, there would be nothing left.

A friend of mine handed me a box of 027 that looked like this, he thought I owed him one... needless to say the box of track and our friendship was set out to the curb...

And the auction closed with no bidders. WOW.

If you sandblasted it, it would disappear.

I would have bid on it if he had listed it as coming from a "pet-free/tobacco-free" home.

Looks like a cheap cast iron reproduction as harleyhouse stated earlier.

But it also resembles some old Bing/Marklin floor trains.

Well, right now it resembles junk!
