Here is an excellent site geared toward those who enjoy fine details on their models, in particular diesel locomotives. It features a lot of great discussion pertaining to this topic and a section in which folks currently working on project post pictures of their progress. Most of the coverage is focused on HO and N scale models; however, it is easily interpreted in a manner which can be applied to O scale.
