In conclusion: bus.

Over-glorified bus.  Don't think it would be practical for long distances.  Until the technology is proven, there will be a drivers position.

Even when O-Hare Airport installed their rubber tired and tracked people mover, there were initially operators on board.  They still can be operated manually if needed.
