Received my second-only modern diesel loco - an MTH Premier P-3 GEAC4400CW - heading up a five-car TTX twin-stack CSX container set. Engine is #138 and the prototype has passed through Nashville on occasion.

Detailing on loco and cars is excellent. Engine sounds and operation on DCS are also excellent.

Attached an MTH truck with an ETD device on rear car.

The blue and yellow livery on the engine and cars is pleasing and the "How tomorrow moves" slogan stands out.

THANKS MUCH for the catalog photo!

Two days before I received this set from R-T-R in Miami, FL a friend of mine, who is a CSX engineer with 17 years of service, presented me with a W.T. Kirkman No.100 "Watchman" kerosene railroad lantern. This lantern has a CSX dark blue globe with white lettering depicting the [CSX] logo and Nashville Division 2012.

This MINT condition lamp is sitting on my desk as I type this!

BTW, the blue color on the actual set is the correct CSX DARK blue!

Are you referring to what I believe is called "dark future"?

I already own a few CSX locomotives in that color scheme.  Just wish MTH or Atlas-O would make containers available with the new logo (as separate-sale items).  They'd sell like hotcakes!  I don't need another locomotive... Nor do I need more Gunderson cars.  Just the containers.

When I swapped out the MTH truck with the ETD, I discovered that the two screws that hold the truck bracket to the frame could NOT be fastened because there was NO room for the screwdriver shaft due to the pickup roller mechanism.

I decided to place the truck bracket into its slot and let GRAVITY keep it in place.

Works fine without screws, rubber cement or glue, and the original truck can be easily replaced!

I expect this set will be very popular among CSX enthusiasts.  Along with the Gunderson-style cars in the set, MTH also made husky stack cars last year with the same "how tomorrow moves" slogan/logo (with 48' containers if I recall right).

And due out in July/August of this year is Lionel's CSX heritage 60' boxcar that was catalog'd almost THREE years ago , but can't seem to see the light of day.    It's also blue/yellow with the new CSX intermodal logo, and should look cool with the MTH cars.

All these cars will definitely make a very impressive modern unit-train.

Can someone who has either the five car or two car sets please confirm the radius needed? I have found these cars listed as needing either 042 or O54 radius both in catalogs and on the web site. I'd like to purchase a 2 car set and then track down one of the three car sets to run on my O42 outer track. The three car sets are shorter cars at 13 5/16" long, the 2 and 5 car end units are listed as 14 3/4".

I would like to have the containers also. MTH has some individual Husky cars with a similar container.

I was hoping to find someone that will break the set up. If anyone is interested in the engine let me know and we can see if we can work out a deal.

A fixed pilot set would have been nice also. I had two road names of the fixed pilot engine on pre-order but  the engine was cancelled.

O54 radius is the minimum of what is needed, anything less will have trouble.
