It has been three years and one month since service to Munoz was interrupted. Today, Mayor Ginny Munoz took to the town center and announced that service to New York City and points west has been restored. The town is jubilant. Trains will run from New York through to Philadelphia and then on to Kansas City and Munoz. Grand Central Terminal has been fully restored, power to all tracks below the Terminal is complete and the subway is running. Electrified service is now available to Philadelphia and on to Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. Steam service is available from Grand Central Terminal in the form of the Empire State Express now running daily.
Zimmerman steam yard is fully operational with the newly renovated roundhouse and its associated diesel building on the premises. Thirteen tracks now serve the steam facility. Superintendent Scrapiron Scher reports that miscellaneous switch control, almost complete on spur tracks will be completed by the end of the week. Trains are now arriving at Kansas City Union Station. The Tropicana manufacturing facility is complete and the Juice Train pulled by CSX locomotives is running daily to the New York City environs.
