The start of something new unfortunately starts with the end of something old.  Many people didnt know that the big Plateau at the NJ HiRailers didnt only house the refinery and coal mine.  There was a hidden labyrinth below it that housed a 20 track double ended staging yard   The first step we took yesterday in demolishing our layout was to rip that yard up  That yard was 72 feet long

@bluelinec4,

Ben,

I hope that someday there is a new layout with whatever scenery can be salvaged from the old. That will leave people with a fond memory of what was in Paterson.

However the NJHR goes forward, I don't think it's necessary to create a new railroad that's quite as elaborate. People will still come to enjoy the layout, the food, and the hospitality.

Best wishes and let us know how it's going.

Hi Ben sorry this has happened but keep us in touch Anna n Alan will come to you're new opening wherever it will be hope you guys can find a place for storing as you tear down the layout as that is a lot of very large parts pieces and I can't image how much wires will be pulled out during demolition! any Idea where you will be able to store things removed and hope you don't end up with switches that get destroyed during removal !

Alan
