I am asking for a  quick response to this question to hopefully take advantage of the Lionel parts sale..  I have the Lionel TMCC 0-8-0 switcher from around 2004. with wireless tether  Love the engine but hate the huge gap between engine and tender,  Is there a replacement tether or part of a tether I can buy from the parts dept.  possibly from the newer Legacy 0-8-0  to easily replace it?  Thanks Joe

They used to have shorter ones but those are sold out. I shorten the existing ones on the engine and tender now. Easiest way is to just make a cut across the drawbar, and overlap them the distance you want to shorten them. Remove the blueing on the overlapped area and solder them together. The material is .050' thick so the thickness will not interfere with operation or appearance at all. Recover the area the area with shrink wrap.

Note, when you shorten the tender drawbar first measure the distance from the drawbar slot to the tender body. That will be the maximum distance you want to shorten it, otherwise you won't be able to drop the engine drawbar into the slot. Length of the engine drawbar will be determined by how close the LED holder can get to the frame. Too short and it hits frame or limits the swing.
