Wow Mark.   I didn't realize how much your layout has grown.         That sure is a lot of track.

Looking really good sir.

I can't wait to see the progress on the scenery.

Thank you, Dallas!  Didn’t realize how much the layout has grown!?  Me too!  😄  I didn’t expect to put in that much track.  I don’t want to add up the cost of all those switches.  😄

If I had a larger room, I would have put in the same amount of track.  I have to figure out how to put in more scenery now.

Thank you again!  I’m glad you like it!

I’m a little confused about Trackside Thursday. I always thought that it was about activities or scenery along the track or in yards. Doc’s pictures mirror my thoughts. Ron’s also capture the title. However I am not the originator; so maybe I’m out in left field here.

Morning Bob, from reading what Lee posted on the first post to get this thread started, you are correct. It's all about things going on around the tracks. As Lee stated junk, abandoned cars, Hobos!

It really great to have this page to ad realism to one's layout!

Ron, that was my take on it also.  That’s why I have posted little.  I didn’t think plywood, Homasote, drills, and screwdrivers fit the format.  😄  However, a railfan watching a train from Plywood Plain could fall under trackside.  Hmmm

Regardless, I like every photograph that has been posted.  👍🏻

TsThur fans...I am with Mark Boyce, I don't think this meant "layout under construction" pictures (although that is OK), I think the idea was items either along the trackside or from a "railfan" point of view involving the trains.  I really like all the pictures so IMHO I think we adopt a ....broad...definition as to what falls under "trackside".

Don

There are so many other threads that include trains running. Most have a Railfan point of view. There is no reason to stray from Lee’s original intent.

Mark after watching your video you have lots of track side stuff to post so don’t be afraid to post your track stuff finished or unfinished.

Lee, Thank you very much.    I guess you are right.  Even if I haven't completed the scenery, bare plywood with some buildings, a couple cars, a few people, and a train track isn't much different than a postwar layout that is on a green tabletop.

You got it Mark.  I have a cheap green Matt for my O27 layout sitting on a old school table with a track side setting hope to add another one soon there’s no difference and my O27 layout is still under construction
