Can anyone comment on where to find traction tires? I have a couple of dozen locos 10-15 years old; the tires have crumbled. Manufacturers include MTH, Lionel, Weaver, K Line and Third Rail. Do manufacturers carry spares? Tires made at the time of manufacture would be equally brittle.
What luck have you had with products for forming tires on the wheel?

You can order traction tires directly from MTH and Lionel. Some folks on this forum prefer MTH tires for both mfrs. as they think the MTH ones are better.

GGG (forum member and super repair tech) usually has them in stock. Many of the diesels are universal, but the steam engines are more specific. You might try GunRunnerJohn as well.
I just bought some reproduction traction tires from joestrainparts (msjs1123) on eBay.
What me worry?
