Morning, I have a SD-60 CSX#8706 from Lionel. Part number is 6-28356. I purchased it brand new from a guy, had never been out the box since new. The train won’t respond to being programmed. Anyone on here have a place that could repair it? My local hobby shop isnt a good spot in my opinion to fix it. Thanks

Some questions:
- Did you purchase it new when it was new 11 years ago, or "new" recently?
- Does it run ok in conventional mode?
- Does the headlight flicker when powered in command mode?

Won’t even program, haven’t ran it in conventional mode as I don’t have a conventional layout/ transformer. I place the engine on the track, cab light flashes three times and engine fires up and idles but no control and won’t program. It did run one time in forward. When the track power was turned on.
Go to a Lionel Authorized Technician. We have some excellent ones on the Forum. Hopefully, some of them will chime in.
Make sure Program/Run switch back in the Run position.
I also looked in your profile and couldn't tell where you are located - makes it harder to offer close suggestions.
I'm a service center but out West.
You also already have a thread with suggestions here: https://ogrforum.com/...=lastReply#lastReply
I will ship the engine anywhere. I just want it fixed
Try ENG 99 and see if it will respond. Other than early generation Legacy (Yours is the RCMC) which should support responding to ENG 99.
If it responds then the ID programming didn't take. Try all the ID 1-98 to find, if the #99 worked.

99 doesn’t work
Hi, send me your email! Alan
Sounds like Antenna or Program/Run switch - Verify the connector and antenna board GunRunnerJohn mentioned in the other thread. The little daughter board comes loose, especially during shipping.

Henning trains, for repair. Lansdale Pa
Hennings is a great choice!

Before shipping, take a moment to work that little run/program switch back and forth a bunch of times.
