I just got home from this event. I had the BEST time ever. I wanted to thank Jeff and the TTOS club for organizing the meet and insisting every one stay safe and observe protocols. Thank You!

First off the weather was perfect! The location at Duke's Cafe parking lot in Placentia CA. is very easy to get to and provided lots of room to spread out. It was very well attended and stayed busy for the entire 3 hours and then some...

I had been waiting for an opportunity to thin my collection and I couldn't have been happier with the results. I sold everything I brought. I had only a small card table and I made sure everything was clean, boxed, and fairly priced. My personal philosophy is that these train items and accessories were paid for by me a long time ago. Train selling is not my business and I don't need to show a profit. It's more of a social activity with me.

@Steve "Papa" Eastman  kindy let me set up next to his spot and I had a good visit with him. He had his renowned battery powered trains running during the meet and it was a treat for me listening to him talk about trains and watch the tinplate run . Lots of wisdom there!

This was a meet that everyone REALLY needed right now. I know that the weather and situations in many parts of the country are difficult right now, but I was grateful to have a chance to sit in the sun and be with train friends and pass along some train treasures to new homes.

I would encourage Southern California folks to try and make the next outdoor meet at Duke's. I actually liked the informal format!  I suspect that it's much like the early days of train collecting. More like friends getting together to swap stories and find special items that they may have been looking for.

Hopefully other attendees will chime in on their experiences. My camera unfortunately didn't store the pics I took so maybe someone else can post a few. It was a remarkable scene.

It was a good day...

John
