Hi Everyone,

I'm going to take a chance here that the webmasters will sign off on my post and God Bless them and everyone else who does. I am so happy that Norfolk Southern has chosen to honor our veterans with the painting of a locomotive dedicated to this express purpose. There is no better association than to have the railroads we love honor the people who have given so much for us. Ginny and I will proudly run this locomotive with our military train.

Here is the reason for my post in the form of a question. Are there any of you out there who would like to help translate this idea into something wonderful?

Last month I became the President of the Rotary Club of Carmel and I met a young woman who spends all of her spare time moving our Vets into homes with furniture that the VA can't seem to accomplish. So far she has, with a team of volunteers, moved over 300 veterans into homes with decent furniture and the various implements of life. Ginny and I are two volunteers and I can tell you there is little that is more satisfying than seeing the faces of the VETS when they get their homes and furniture. The problem is, she needs a box truck so that she does not have to make countless trips with her little mini van. I have decided to try to help her make that happen. Is there some way we can connect our love of trains and the honoring of veterans into a conduit to help her raise money or get the truck she needs? I am not trying to solicit direct donations with this post. I am only looking for ideas. Many thanks.
