Trying to locate a MTH proto one Southern Passenger sound chip for Diesel | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I recently purchased a set of Weaver Southern E8's from a fellow forum member. While replacing the battery in a MTH set of B&O E8's, I noticed how similar the Weaver Southern shell was to the MTH shell so I placed the Southern shell and it fit perfectly. I had heard that MTH purchased the E8 dies from Weaver but I felt sure MTH would have made some major modifications but he only modification was a smoke stack and hole for smoke. ( I will not run smoke so no hole is needed.

Well, although I prefer to run Legacy and DCS, I discovered I was quite pleased with the way these engines rand and sounded so I will just keep the Proto one package.

I am hoping I can find someone who has removed a Proto one set for a MTH Southern Diesel with Passing station announcements that I could replace the B&O chip with.

Any one have one for sale or know where to find one?

You can order the chip from MTH. I regularly order specific chips for dead ones in PS/1 repairs.
