Probably not, as he has a history of questionable posts.

Guess it happens to everyone at some point.

Well Brody, it all comes down to reading and comprehension.
About 3 years ago, UP had an Open House at the Houston Amtrak Station. The Katy unit was there. Got to be inside the cab legally. Also was on an Operation Lifesaver train with the Katy leading. And have a model of UP 1988. So great to see they will be repainted!
Hot Water posted:AMAZING! Haven't any of the most recent posters to this thread, read the whole thread? The original poster is WRONG! The UP is NOT painting out/over their heritage units! They are simply RE-PAINTING the existing units, since they are looking shabby after some 10 years of service.
In close to 25 years of participating in various types of internet forums, I have come to realize that reading the whole thread, not to mention comprehending it, is an uncommon thing.
I Wasn't able to get a picture, but the 1996 SP Heritage Unit is Alive, Well and Earning her keep. The 1996 is in the lead, on the siding along Sandy Blvd about 162nd in Portland, OR. Right Now.
It's a Great looking unit, and always a nice treat to unexpectedly catch Her.

Well I read the entire thread and I am happy the original story proved to be false. I really like the heritage units but I don't get anywhere near as excited over them as the guy in the video did. The only heritage unit I have ever seen in real life is the Erie-Lackawanna unit. Yes, I know that is NS and not UP. Living on the east coast I don't see a lot of UP equipment.
