I was traveling along the Hardy Toll Road in north Houston. There were 4 trains back to back waiting to get into the terminal. Is traffic that heavy in the system? Houston terminals overloaded again? Overflow from trying to imatate Hunter Harrison?

What with all the weather issues up north, lots and LOTS of re-routes are happening.
Houston terminals overloaded again?
Overloaded or mis-managed.
Overflow from trying to imatate Hunter Harrison?
And there you have it!!!! Most of the entire UP system is "melting down" due to drastic personnel cuts/retirements and massive budget cuts.

One would think UP would have waited for Brazos Yard to be finished before doing changes. Because now with Brazos, they will now need to change twice. Not smart.
Guess also UP did not learn from the 1996 Englewood meltdown how fragile the Houston Terminal is.

One would think UP would have waited for Brazos Yard to be finished before doing changes. Becuase now with Brazos, they will now need to change twice. Not smart.
Reported on Trainorders.com last week, work on Brazos Yard has been stopped! Also, the Hinkle Oregon Hump Yard has been closed. All in the name of "cost cutting".

After almost 25 years, most all of those people are gone. Everything is all about Precision Scheduled Railroading now.
Precision? Really? 😐
