I apologize if this has been covered or if it's in the wrong spot, but I couldn't find the answer. So wondering, has anyone had success fitting the Hudson vision line cab and rear wall (if necessary) into other scale Hudsons? Mainly wondering if it'll work in a scale Williams Hudson 5205 (which looks pretty similar to my 785). Would love to cover up the can motor. Thanks for any help!

It will fit but only of you change the motor. No room otherwise. You can add the rear bulkhead too.
The way I did can be found here.

Thanks Pete. That's what I was afraid of. That motor does stick out pretty far. I've got it running just right , so a motor swap wasn't something I wanted to tackle .. just yet. Oh well, me and the flywheel will just have to get used to staring at each other!
I'm partial to the backhead, seats and bulkhead from the CV myself...
CV backhead would likely fit as it does on the CV, further back in the cab if the flywheel was thinner. Thinning the existing one would require a lathe or mill. Using one from a Mabuchi motor might only require drilling the hole larger. Lionel has a few of those that are already drilled for set screws.

Excellent looking curtains Pete. Did you make them yourself or have someone make them(or bought)?
Hmmm.. I looked up the CV and it seems Lionel states the rear cab is unavailable. Unless I'm not looking at the right one. I'm trying to take advantage of the 50% sale next week! So, wondering if the Hudson cab can be modified a little on the inside to accommodate the large mabuchi flywheel.
I do really appreciate all the help and suggestions!

Donnie, check the auction sites on backheads. There are some third party and other Lionel ones that could work too given the space you have for small money.

Thanks Pete. I'll keep on the hunt for one! No big hurry. If anyone has any spares that'll work let me know.
Thanks for the closeup pictures Mario. That does look good. You've spiked my interest. But the more I look , the more I'm liking that commodore...
Great curtains and backheads. I know when Pat did my Mohawk, he said that the crew will love the backhead and be proud to represent the Central on runs. Having a crew is a great thing too. I know he had also said about a future project, "We'll get rid of those anorexic crew members and put in a proud fit crew.", or something like that.
