I am in the process of 'waking' dozens of Lionel post-war trains that have been boxed for 30+ years. When I have placed them on the rails and apply power about half of them are acting like they are hung over and wanting a rebuild, the other half are barely budging and NEED a cleaning and rebuild. BUT... the ol' 520 box cab was ready for action!  It gladly sprang awake and was ready to go! Of course the 520 can barely pull itself around the track for it's lack of weight and it always seemed like it was pleading for some detail or decoration. Anyhow, I added about 9 ounces of lead fishing sinkers inside and lubed up the gears and cleaned it's wheels and it was pulling much better. I have an NYC 2344 F-3 dummy unit that is sitting on the track and it hooked it up and it pulled and pushed it! It's silly, but here it is in all it's '56 glory!

As I'm typing this out I have half a mind to add some lighting or something to it. I have the pantograph in another box, but have you seen others 'trick out' their boxcabs? The prototypes seemed to be lousy with details and stuff attached to them.
