Hi,

By the beginning of August work will begin to demolish our garage. In addition to a new two car garage, I get a 20’x20’ extension for my train room. I have the dimensions for the bench work; as well as my mainline. This will allow for outlets in the floor where the controls will be.
For the walls I’m contemplating a sky blue. It is my intention to have photos enlarged to provide realistic background to correspond with what is on that area of the layout. For the ceiling I’m torn between black, to focus attention to the layout, or perhaps a deeper blue. My concern is that black could be too much for the room. Plus, it would be difficult to paint over.

Lightning will be with appropriately mounted directional lights. There will be two transom type windows on the east side.
Any suggestions and insights will be greatly appreciated.

 Thank you,

Jay

I would do white ceiling and sky blue seamless heavy paper walls. You can cove hard turns on your walls with the seamless paper. I then air brushed the clouds on the walls. I used velcro ships to hold up the background. Seamless paper is available at most photo shops and come in long rolls and heights. I bought mine a Film Tools (https://www.filmtools.com). Velcro strips at most hardware stores. You can see in the photos there are no sharp corners. DonDSC_0296wide canyon copy
