Sorry for the poor IPhone video. I was excited. Better videos coming . . . . . for certain ! A new age is dawning. The age of the hybrid brass locomotive. Lionel, let's go !!

WOW!!
What a beauty. No improvement needed on those smoke units. Enjoy.
Eliot,
Love the whistle steam, overall looks like a winner.

Pretty impressive. I wonder if these smoke machines are a new design?

Same smoke units, but we've made a handful of updates to them this year starting with the AC-9. Should see improved smoke output and better reliability.
Well that’s cool news.
Awesome steamer.
"Yeow" is right--very, very impressive! Enjoy!

@Dave Olson, do the regular legacy light mikados also have an improved smoke unit?

can you tell us what you did and if we can do something with our older legacy units?
like buy parts?
That's the best whistle steam I've seen.
Improved reliability IS good news. I have three Legacy locomotives that have smoke units not functioning...
Nice clip Eliot - Thanks. The light catches the smoke from a good angle heightening the effect.
I'm going to confess that I got more excited over seeing the GGD Powhatan Arrow cars in the background!
Great looking loco....if not for the price I'd have to have one!!! Maybe sell some RK locos to finance one!!!
The improved smoke is stunning!..I hope this will be the standard moving forward
That's the best smoke I've ever seen, the engine detail is amazing. Eliot after all the holiday's I'm coming over to see your layout and that engine. Amazing work Dave ! I'm looking forward to opening up one of these units and seeing what's inside.
Alex
Impressive to say the least!!!
Looks great, nice detail, great smoke but not in my budget. Have fun with that great engine.

What track voltage is required to get that amount of smoke output? 18volts? Would it be much less at 16volts?
Yeowzaaa! I’d have to buy a gallon of smoke fluid if I owned that thing.
OK, I have a secret. It smokes great but you can make it seem like the smoke is as thick as the real thing by "backlighting" the effect. It smokes great, but I had the sunlight streaming in from behind the loco. It's running 18 volts and no added fluid. That's right out of the box.
Eliot, you spoke too soon. I was going to suggest to Dave that you get a commission for every Vision engine Lionel sells in the future.
