 Man, you guys eat like that at all your meetings???  Yum!

Here's an interesting little item. We had a new member join last month, Ron Curtis. He's a big fan of Postwar kit-bashing and buys some of those unfortunate Lionel steamers that attempt to fly, but land on the basement floor. He dropped by the club today with a 2-10-4. He used two motor units tied to a single E-unit. On one unit, he mounted it backward to get it to fit right and ground off the flanges on a pair of drivers so he'd have three blind axles. He joined the side rods on the third driver axle.

He's also working on a 4-8-4 Northern built from a stretched Hudson. No Mint/Near Mint postwar locomotives were harmed.

I think Gilly@N&W and Kanawha are dealing! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Gonna get me in trouble here! Trading a C&O Weaver Troop sleeper for a N&W lantern.

Keep in mind that this all started with four guys just running trains at the County Fair as guests of another club....

Neal,

   That photo struck me as well when I first saw it, tell your son great job!  Its alluring because of the composition and the little things like the prototypical wide curve, the details with the houses, telephone poles etc, weathering, and the realistic imperfections in the ballast and ground cover.  Its good to see you are running other road names, prototypical or not.  Any road name would look great on that layout.  It would be great to see some MTH fixed pilot modern Norfolk Southern/Conrail consist running on that curve.  Maybe I'll bring mine over!  Keep up the good work!

I'm pretty sure that Lionel, for one, has a non-powered GP-30 in Chessie colors.

I looked but cannot find it in TMCC. I believe there is a Legacy Gp30 that is a non powered? Can you run the two together?

I don't know any reason why it wouldn't.  They're not tethered or anything like that, so can't think of any reason why not.  Don't know how old your TMCC is...is it scale?  Are you maybe worried about mis-matched size?

I own the Lionel GP30 dummy in Chessie System paint and you can run it with any engine you can couple it to. Basically, a dummy engine can be considered another piece of rolling stock. Features of this engine can be found on the Lionel website.

I'll snap some pictures of my dummy when I get home from work tonight and a couple of my TMCC B&O GP30 for comparison. Nothing has jumped out at me as far as exterior detailing.

That is really cool! I saw a video of one similar on youtube. Thought it was a great idea and might try it at some point in the future. Looks amazing!

First:

MY thanks to all participants and especially Scott for Keeping this going Every Week. Certainly my favorite thread.

Dan986;

Please contact me about the decals. I have the Billboard and would like to make a car like the reefer.

Doc;

Nice car.

Joey A;

Very nice unloading scene. Are the Flour bags molded or actual bags of something?

They look very realistic.
