Brewtown and Westend neighborhoods.
The photographer caught 1120 with the Liberty Limited departing Washington heading towards Chicago. The streamlined engine is double headed with another K4s for the fast run north.
1120 is a Williams engines, the following K4 is Weaver.
Terrific shots guys, what a way to start the weekend. Neal, I really love the weathering you've done on your track work, would you mind posting how you've done it? It has a very realistic look to it. In a lot of ways, track work is a model too. Thanks Scott for hosting another great thread.
Hey, Scott, I'm curious. Why the question marks in the title? Are we not sore we are having fun any more, or not sure when the weekend is anymore?
A 2019 Christmas Layout memory
Had a lot of younger kids scheduled to visit so I HAD to have my kid favorite train ready for them! Reloaded a few times of course.

Being a fellow Pennsylavian with you, I couldn't imagine a more timely building to show than Wolf Furniture considering the controversy over it staying open until challenged.

J,
Glad that you like the track weathering and thanks for your comment. I airbrush all the track. First and from above, I hit it with Floquil rail tie brown and once that is dry, I hit the rails from a lower angle with rail brown. This gives you some overspray on the ties which looks like rust stain on the ties. The lighting on my pictures make it look like rather fresh rust. It's someone darker and looks a bit better IMHO in person.
Floquil as you probably know is no longer made, but Testor's does make some of the old Floquil weathering colors in their Model Master line so you may still be able to get these colors...just not sure about rail brown. And look at their enamels, not their acrylics. With all the colors of matte and satin spray paint now available, you can probably find some spray paint that would work too.

Walt,
Wouldn't you know that late last year I ordered two new seats for my crew lounge from the other furniture company owned by the owner of Wolf Furniture, Levin's. It was delivered about 2 months later, and just a few weeks before they declared bankruptcy.

SIRT,
I have always loved subways, and I love your subway model. Keep posting pictures of it! The LED's look great.
Believe it or not, here in Pittsburgh, we have a subway. Now it's just a drop in the bucket compared to NYC, but it is really nice, and few cities our size have one. The original part was opened in 1985, and the extension under the Allegheny River opened in 2012. Here is an image from opening day of the extension in 2012 and another of my daughter standing inside the Gateway Station. I had the privilege of attending the ribbon cutting and riding the first car to travel the line after the ceremony.

My new TrainMaster. Sorry, for the shaky video.
Well the Leonardtown and Savannah is both very cheap, usually at the brink of financial collapse, AND terribly short of modern motive power. Although the F-3 in 1965 may be on its way out on the NYC the A-B-A units still represent considerable value to the L&S especially if an EMD re-furb and engine re-build might be part of the price. So today they are running on the L&S to demonstrate how good they really are. Here at about 6 pm on a summer evening, this mighty F-3 set is about to make short work of the Savannah - Macon - Atlanta run arriving in Macon in time for a 8 pm dinner and in Atlanta in time for a nice evening out about 9:30.
Meanwhile, in the L&S HQ office, "Max" general works foreman is investigating a location for an employee break room in response to some complaints. However he is finding this location somewhat cramped.
Couldn't resist the photo of Max in a box I just opened from e-bay. Once box was empty, Max was in it!
Have a good weekend. Max and I are going to be working on the layout.

Guys its Saturday morning here on the frontier (Texas) and wanted to review our forum before starting out on today's work. PRRMiddleDivision (Neal) : You truly have captured the look of the Pennsy and realistic modeling techniques, it is very hard to tell your photos from real life except I know that big turbine is no more. What an engine...is that the Lionel Legacy version or some other make, it has super details. BillT : Aerotrain is really cool. Thanks for sharing. Perry1060- the rock work , scenery, and colors on your layout are really super, T-Rex included. What a job!! Please post some more pictures. Thank you!
Best Wishes Everyone, stay healthy

Don, thank you for your kind comments about the layout. That Legacy equipped Lionel class J Texas is the most recent release of that engine from within the last year. I have the original Odyssey one but I think this one runs and smokes a lot better. It has a bit of a wobble so I have to look at the traction tires but it’s a great looking and sounding engine.
I had a lot of free time today, so I decide to explore counties out in VA that I have never been to before. I saw some really cool stuff!
