converted to LED lighting as well as adding a strip of lights in the dome itself
I put the corner moldings on this evening......next wii be the roof.....This is my 1st wooden building.....I found it more challenging than plastic....I am glad I started with a small project rather than a large structure. I like how the siding came.

Downtown... where the neon signs are pretty? Ehhh, maybe.
I 've been working on sidewalks and raising the buildings. Need to find some nice scale street lamps. I also picked up something I've been wanting for awhile - a '66 Bronco.
Well done Peter!
Today my wife finished her project for the layout. This is almost an exact copy of her fathers TV & Radio sales and service store on Dixie Highway in Momence. She made interior, painted, etc. I had nothing to do with this. I thought she did good, even making tar paper out of tape, the TV and radio's, counter, etc. From what I see, Superman and Roy Rogers shows are on.
PRRfan, great look.

Here are photos of my station platform I finished last week. The columns are 3D printed.
Great photos really like the various real and scale trains, good variety this week, and some nice work and projects.
Here is a project I just finished up. After seeing and reading feedback on the forum and magazine reviews I picked up a LionChief + Great Northern Steam engine that I thought would go well with some GN freight and passenger cars on the layout. Engine was a bit pricy but looks good and runs well nice sounds, will be great for taking to shows to hand a remote to the older kids to run and do some operating. It pulls a long string of cars easily.
But I needed a caboose to go with the freight cars, had an old Atlas small caboose that I wanted to repaint to something more interesting. Found some GN HO box car decals that would work, had a nice red can of spray paint on hand so this was my 2 day project. After the decals dried overnight gave it a matte clear coat of paint. It took the most time to cut clear plastic and tape in for the window glass.
Just the right size and look color to run with my GN steamer.
Lionel seems to have really hit on a great idea with the LionChief engines sure makes it easier to have a cheap remote you can hand to a kid at a show (or home) to let them run the trains.
These are photos of a 2 track ceiling loops on wide radius curves in a bedroom with shelving for train storage display. Engine looks good with either the GN freight or passenger cars. Click on photos for a larger image.

great pics all.
Laidoffsick, I never get tired of looking at that backdrop and roundhouse scene. Just incredible modeling.
Matt,
Yes it was. Still sifting through shots to find best of Cab Forward :-)
WOW! A Treat is right! Very thoughtful and very cool of you to post those photos. They remind me of the exact style of trolleys of Pittsburgh, back-in-the-day (1950's), except for the livery (who cares!) and you even got a shot of a trolley-island type of thing Pittsburgh had downtown back-then, too. Thank you, sir!

Very handsome job - a consistent artistic control - throughout, including the non-scale guitars!

Nice modeling, I always liked older Broncos, and the Internationals too. I especially like the guitars and uke. The accoustic looks like an Ibanez. Is that Koa wood on the uke? Not sure on the electric.

"Brian - I wasn't expecting the added bonus this morning of learning dog culture or signals. Is this a great forum, or what?"
You're welcome, Art. Anything I can do to help. I must admit though, I had to consult with Cody first.
Did not shoot this to post; took it today to send to a friend. Backyard snapshot, but
here it is, anyway; Lionel GP30:
It does run (smoke is off), and beautifully; sounds good - I mean, it's no Alco, but it's Ok for GM (and ignore the Alco in the background - a friend's WBB FA-1 in the process of being Cruise Commnder-ed - waiting on a missing cable):

Spent a lot more money than I wanted to today at Engine House Hobbies.....
Bought the following...
Smoking Brewery...as you can see, the smoke really stinks ! After having it "up and running" at home for about a half hour, I took it back to the store. The issue is there is no on/off switch for the smoke and especially when refilling it, a LOT spits all over the roof. Actually, refilling it once turned into quite a mess. I took it right back and asked Louie, the repairman, to put an on/off switch for the smoke unit on it and it is now perfect.
I had been debating on the operating or non operating tank car filing station for a while. At the end, I went with the non-operating. I found it very hard to justify another $120 for the same accessory with the only difference being the operating one has a little guy that stands on the steps that automatically fold down. This one has manual ramps, as you can see.
A new farm house, a former resident on the old store layout.
Just down the street is the B&O station. The freight house holds a small museum, with museum "annex" locations in the caboose and RDC.
Recently restored 2-8-0 #14 of the Buffalo Creek & Gauley.
The newest arrival, replacing an old Western Maryland troop sleeper, is this freshly restored B&O RDC.
This former C&O caboose is also a relatively recent addition, replacing a B&O I-12. It was recently repainted, unfortunately not to a "railroad" paint scheme. I was hoping for Chessie System. Another smart idea would've been an Operation Lifesaver scheme based on the amount of fatalities on the tracks here.

Both grandsons are sleeping over this weekend. The occasion called for a large loop of LEGO track around the living room into the kitchen thru the dining room and back into the living room.

VeryNice photos!!! Thanks!!! Yes Gaithersburg station is a great little place to watch trains and enjoy the museum pieces for sure. I also LOVE Engine House Hobbies !!! I was there last month and Ken, the owner was great! I too spent a "few" bucks. BTW Mega Steam has a beer scent smoke fluid if you are interested. Its sort of smells like stale beer on Monday morning at a college bar Just thought 's pass it along incase you are interested.
A big THANK YOU for all those LIKES of my posted photos over the last couple weeks!! Much appreciated I assure you!! I will be hitting the road for a three week vacation in the morning so I will be a away from the Forum for a bit. When I return I'll post more photos and of course ENJOY you photos as well. Again MANY THANKS for all the LIKES!!!!

????? Maybe Max was hot on the trail of buried treasure, Peter you hiding trains in the yard?
.....legend has it that a unopened 1950 773 passenger set was buried in this area...and the owner passed without leaving a map to its whereabouts.....
Go to it, Max!
