I'm a big fan of the MTH/Ives 3236 Locomotives.

AF - Paul Revere - stretched version.
Some time back I purchased an incomplete Paul Revere set which only had two cars. Recently I managed to find two more passenger cars of the correct type. As one would expect the colors of the mixed consist don't quite match and the brass window frames on the "newer" cars are a thicker stamping than the window frames on the original passenger car and observation. However, I still like the way the assembled set looks.

Absolutley gorgeous set Fred !
It still blows my mind that this early on they managed to get basically a 00 sized wonder electrically powered
Another week goes by without much added to the collection ... But I DID manage to find some cylinder castings for my Australian home grown Robilt that was missing them
We can now fill in the gaping holes at the front !

I will be allowed to expand my tinplate layout in the museum's basement. The current layout is on the right side of the drawing.
I have to clean up and move out the extra metal shelves before I can proceed, which means I have to clean the room they will be going to.
These are the shelves that have to be moved.
I still have to allow movement between the tables for visitors. There is 6 feet from my table edge to the wall.
This new section will have at least 1 Standard gauge loop and one to two O-Gauge loops.
We are hoping to get approval to cut a whole in the wall and go into the next room (Phase 3)
I am open to suggestions.
Thanks,
Scott Smith

CHRIS: Love that NICE AF 102 station! I also have one with a red base and chimneys. JKE: I also admire that very special and beautiful Carette steeple cab! You, Sir, are a consummate purveyer of these exquisite antiquities!
American Flyer O gauge 1090 "Empire Express" loco circa 1928 together with two 1931-1932 era cars; a 518 Club Car and 519 Passenger Car. These were the most basic of Flyer designs, but with great colors and it runs like a rocket.

Fred,
I always enjoy your postings. Thanks for expanding my knowledge of European tinplate. This morning as I watched your video my wife and I both recognized the music that you used for a background but we couldn't come up with the name of the piece. What is it?

Northwoods Flyer
Greg, Thank you,
It is a track from a Glenn Miller CD compilation from 1992; the CD is called Chattanooga Choo Choo. The track is Tuxedo Junction.

Thanks Fred! Now I can stop wracking my brain to remember. Manhattan Transfer has a great rendition of it with the lyrics.

A couple more pick ups at last Saturday’s auction at TCA. Whistle in the Lionel station does not work. A project for another day. I love the red litho roof bungalow

I can't explain how HAPPY it makes me feel to match locos (and coaches) with their proper "tenders".
Example A: AF #10 Loco w/328 tender and 1107 coach
*Original Advertising of AF train:
Example B: A Bing 0-4-0 Clockwork with its appropriate tender (coaches are German market - not LMS)
*Photo of Tender (and super charred GWR Green loco that I'm considering restoration, though very expensive)
*Soon to arrive in mail.. it's proper (and super clean) loco
Example C: Bing "3390" set (just as in catalog below)

NICE MATCHES! It is always good when things come together and provide a measure of closure! ☺
