During this corona virus pandemic, I have worked from home for the most part, with my office in my train room. In fact, my shelves with trains, layout with shelves for storage below it, are located directly behind my desk.  This gives me the opportunity to see many of my engines several times in a given day.

So the thought crossed my mind about about all the different road names that I have, and the most common ones. My most common road names are

1) New York Central

2) Pennsyvania,

3) Santa Fe

4) Union Pacific

5) Burlington

What are the most common engine road names on your layout? Post your responses below. Thanks. and stay healthy.

Estimate (quite likely out of order a bit) without actually counting up :

For Real Railroads:

  1. New York Central
  2. Metropolitan Transportation Authority (subways)
  3. Pennsylvania Railroad
  4. NASA
  5. LIRR

For Fantasy or Toy Trains:

  1. Disney
  2. Christmas (boxcars, other rolling stock , engines)
  3. Lionel Lines

Realizing now I may have mis-estimated since the question was just engines.  So probably move Disney to the end or remove it from the second list since most of it is rolling stock.
