Many moons ago, I posted pics of some boards I had acquired asking what they were.
Some were Williams reverse units and some were SOS boards. However, I can't remember
what this one was for. Looks like it has two wires in and two contacts out. Some kind of
sound? Thanks in advance./KC

I'd guess that is a horn board, the track power is on the left, and the speaker outputs are near the volume control.
John is correct -- it's the basic Lionel electronic horn board that was in use from 1981 through the early 2000's.
It's part number 8152-50 or 600-8152-050. Its two output posts require a 16 ohm speaker.

Just curious how you test them? I have a couple I would like to bench test.
I just sky-wire a transformer to the power leads and clip on a speaker for boards like that horn board.
For testing TMCC stuff, I have a little test board I put together from junkbox parts to test the TMCC and ERR boards. I can also plug in the modular Legacy stuff as well. The extra leads hanging out allow me to test ERR sound boards and the ERR Sound Converter boards.
GUNRUNNERJOHN - always incredibly helpful! Don't have any TMCC stuff yet - love your test board. Been thinking of doing something like that for testing E units - tired of holding wires to my DVM 
So I can just wire from the transformer directly to the Red/Black on the board... makes sense since that's how it's wired on the Diesel.
I'm guessing from prior posts I need to be worried about polarity. U to Red, A to Black?

Yep, just connect the transformer. You do need to watch the polarity of the connections as the whistle and bell buttons put different polarity DC on the AC waveform. Many horn boards will only respond to the correct polarity, old PW horn relays obviously worked with any DC offset, so they didn't care.

That test board is really cool! What MB did you use?
Nope, it was home grown from junk box parts. It allows me to test TMCC boards and motor controllers simply without taking stuff apart.
