Well I was able to put the Bridge in place for the upper level. The track is set on the right of wat but roadbed must be done before fastening the track. Rolling stock rolls well on this line so far. Some photos.

As for me after dealing with my truck and other things. I actually got something done train wise last night. Yes Finally. Finished kadee conversion of my newest addition to my roster A pair of Atlas GN GP35s. Note the last pic shows the Atlas GP35(right) connected to a MTH GN GP35. You can see the difference in the pilots. I also didn't realize that the pilot on the MTH engine was bent upwards until I saw the pic.

Nice to hear you have your truck done. But now back to your trains, they look great but one question is how do you plan on fixing the pilot that is tilting up a little ?

Bend it back carefully.
I only had a few minutes after church today so I did a little bit of plaster cloth near the river. This is where my "rapids" will go, and hence the name of the town "Little Rapids, MI". This name goes along with 2 real cities in Michigan, Grand Rapids and Big Rapids.

The first part of the day was going to a train show. Packed show. I felt like a sardine going up and down the aisles. Found nothing so I headed down to Menards to picked up my Morton salt building and dry walls screws. Well I learned from the girl at the desk that when you get an email to say it is at the store it does not mean it is ready for pickup. I felt bad but I will head back down tomorrow to get it. So this afternoon I worked on cutting pieces for braces that will hold plywood for the bridge abutments. It took some time and patience to figure out exactly how long to cut them. Needed 7 1/4 inches from the bottom of the abutment to the bottom of the girder bridges. Now I have to cut 1x 4's to hold the plywood. At least I am getting to use up small pieces of lumber rather them throwing them out. Maybe after dinner I'll have a chance to do more but if not tomorrow I will after I get back from Menards.....Paul

Hey Paul, sorry to hear your Morton building wasn't ready for you. I would think you had time to walk around and see what else they had to offer in Train items. So the big question is, now that you had extra room in the car on the way home, what other rolling stock did you pick up?

MIKE G, no other trains. The Menards in Massallon Ohio does not stock trains after Christmas. So I have to order and have it sent to the store. Plus I have to pace myself because next month is York........Paul
Did a bit of touchup on my Pennsy NW2:
Used a bit of black Sharpie to cover up the overspray. Won't win any model contests, but at two feet and in motion, it looks fine!

Reworked two of the new sidings in the yard and began planning for the home made transfer table at the far end of the ladder in the yard.
This morning I traveled south to the Washington, Pa. area to the spring TCA show. I will leave the negatives out and just say "It was a train show" and finally found something to buy. First I picked up the two standard gauge motors a guy fixed for me and later bought a #8 Standard box electric from him. He said he got it out of a house and he hadn't done anything to it. I believed him -sort of dirty and scratched but everything is there. Showed life on the test track but not running yet. tried but needs a good cleaning first. I was strictly on a Standard gauge hunt and picked u a standard passenger car shell the someone started to fix up. Not sure if i will complete it or take some brand new parts and pieces off it. Spent part of the lasted afternoon putting the rebuilt Bild A Loco motor back in the engine. Plenty of Standard gauge stuff was there but I thought it was a little light on O gauge items. I had fun and glad that I went. My last one here.

Thanks! It's 16x8x16 (L-Shaped) so it's not huge....but big enough for a baseball field. I love sports and wanted to add something to my layout with a sports theme.

Today my grandson Ian and I went to a train show in Massillon, OH. Hadn’t been to one in many years, so I was a blind newbie wandering the aisles. I relearned two things:
1) if it’s there and you want it, grab it, pay for it and don’t worry about carrying it around with you for the rest of the show. Lost out on a nice Pennsy MTH passenger car for $20.
2) If you want track (which I did), remember to look low and under tables. Space is at a premium so the cheap stuff seems to be hidden under the tables. Saw a guy durn near hugging two boxes of really nice O27 (what I was after) while paying some amazingly low price!
Oh yeah, 2.5) Practice your Salmon swimming skills so you can squeeze through the crowds!
Ian reminded me that he has wanted a Thomas engine for quite some time, but they seem to be rare, at least at this show. I found one brand new set that the guy was good enough to pull out the track and brick and reduce the price to what I had in hand! Not what I had planned to spend $ on, but some things are just worth it!

I bought the Lionel Standard gauge #8 at the TCA show and it wouldn't run. Cleaned the rollers, wheels and commutator with CRC electro solvent and boy !! Did it take off. One of the best running engines I have. Amazing.

Must be that time of year my daughter's cat doing the same thing.
I am on a roll, finished another Kadee conversion last night. MTH GN GP30 using Mario's Lionel GP7/9 mounts modified to fit the opening in the pilot. Tried something new to hid the seams and it turned out well. will document it with next upgrade.

The CEO's renovation is moving along. Waiting on some materials from the plumbing supply for the heat in the room so I managed to squeeze in a little train time last night.
I re-wired the motors in a K-Line S-1 to series from parallel. Needed to slow it down a bit. Hard to spot cars with a Corvette
It's much better now.
Lightning McQueen here is next....

I'll sum up what this past weekend had in store for me:
- Fixing a RealTrax switch with a burnt copper ribbon and a disconnected ground piece
- Replacing a dead battery in a PS2 Switcher with a BCR
- Replacing a dead battery in a PS1 F3 with a BCR
- Pulling a squealing smoke unit out of a Railking Allegheny 2-6-6-6 and oiling the impeller shaft
- Adding 2 spring plungers as latches for entry door
- For the first time ever, run trains and just have fun. That was exciting and great feeling of accomplishment, especially with ONLY one almost head on collision. Oops, keeping track of those switches will take some time.

Rear: Preliminary mockup of a concept allowing my HO scale gi-raffe car to run on three rail. The basic idea is to mount an operating lever on a flat car, then run a linkage to the HO scale car...
Front: Remember all those tubes left over from the Howard Roark Memorial Storage Facility? Guess what fits in the ends?

Didn't do anything on the layout today but tomorrow is a rain day. I got my Morton Salt building and took it and put it on the basement layout. Not where it is going to end up I put it next to the power plant to compare the two. Two impressive buildings. The lighting is awesome and the kicker is not one but two animated signs on the building. But that's it for tonight because tomorrow I plan to get the areas for the bridge in. Get some cross braces on the table I just put together and put some shelving under it so I can store more trains. Pics................Paul

Cool. I got "Grandpa's House" from Menards today and finally a 3 outlet power source! Going to hook them up now!
