Sure Mark- first you tell me about the other WM's you have, then you post a video of one........

Gonna need to go into the witness protection program soon if you and Apples55 keep this up.

Looking good, Brian!  Thank you!!  It looks like Helmstetter Curve from a different angle than I've seen it!  It is a great place to see the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad even today!!

Cleaned the layout and the train room up.  Had 2 successful open houses Tuesday night and Friday night.  Probably close to 60 people came through and enjoyed themselves over the 2 nights.  I think I will do 1 more for friends at school to bring their kids through at the end of the month and then trains get taken off layout in anticipation of summer layout work season.  DSC_1233[1]DSC_1234[1]

OK Beardog- maybe....

Anybody seen the new Animal Planet series about the Bronx Zoo? A recent episode featured their flamingos.

One is named Dinky ans is featured in this episode.

Very interesting.  All I really knew about the Bronx Zoo is that the original 3376 and 3386 gi-raffe cars were marked for there...

And Dinky is adorable!

Bryan, glad your second open house went well although I did not get a return invitation so I guess I have to exclude from my open house after York LOL. All kidding aside the layout has taken on a new prospective from the small layout you first had in the small room. I am sure when you do the your open house for your friends at school they will impressed. Well today I spent the morning and afternoon doing what I like to do best....wiring..UGH!!! but I managed to get the majority of the sidings hooked up except for one which I have to figure why it does not work. I have power and ground to it. Also I have a puzzling problem which maybe you guys can help me with it is the bridge. First I had to tweak the abutments to get it to fit. I must of had some expansion. I fixed that and dropped the bridge into place. When I bought it at York a few years back Mike Reagan said it would carry electrical through it. But as I ran the engine toward the bridge it went dead just before going onto the bridge.  I have a transition from Gar Graves to Fast Track. On the Gar Graves I ran wires to both outer rails and power to the center rail.  The pic with the engine is where it goes dead. Unfortunately I cannot find my tester for power yet. I did use transition pins that go from Gar Graves to fast track. If anybody has any ideas I am all ears because as of now I am at a loss. Here are pics and the last ones show where I hooked up the wires. I go from Gar Graves to fast track to fast track girder bridge to bridge. Thanks for any help ahead of time Paul

Paul,

The bridge scene looks great!  As to the transition track section, I have never used one.  I would think power would be transferred just as any other connection, so it seems to me you just have a bad connection somewhere not particular to the transition section.  Maybe you need another power connection somewhere.

Oh, I just remembered to comment on that load of Menards auto carriers you have!  They look very sharp down the track a ways!!

I ran a train around and around in circles today

I ran a train around and around in circles AND ran a trolley around and around in circles going the other way!

Also am frankensteining a transfer caboose together out of a broken caboose shell and an old flatcar.     I'm wondering whether to light it or paint the windows over in the body color.

Forgot how awesome your bridge was Paul. Haven't seen it in a while. The bridge is a lift out right? You probably need to add jumpers to the track. Find your tester before you go crazy. Great to see an engine lit up on the track.

Nice train room Brian. Don't know why Paul would need body guards....everyone would be staring at your layout.

BTW- what's with this "take the trains off the layout stuff"?????

I just met Forum Member PCRR Dave for lunch yesterday (Oh yes, we did have a train swap deal as the reason for getting together).  Dave said, and I agreed, this forum is the best place to talk O gauge trains, and the people here are great!!  I think that is what you are experiencing, John!  We are glad to have you here!!
