didn't do much today went in search of more track ran out of all straights. from my estimates I need 15 more 10's 18 more 5's 8 4.5's 19 1 3/4's 13 30's and 15 1 3/8's so I went to hobbytown USA they had the 30's about 25 of them they had 1 1 3/4 and 1 5 inch then a bunch of curves that I don't need. and they were about 3 bucks more than legacy station for the 30's so I didn't buy anything. so I called around trying to find a train store open on sunday Nothin. so came back home. today was a bust.
It was a kit originally tan in color with green trim. It came from a big lot of old buildings I bought off a forum member last year. I've been slowly resurrecting them back to life. I'm going to add some lights and other detail things to them. But for now I've been cleaning them up, weathering and reassemble them.
I poured a black wash over Mt Levi and it did a great job of filling in the areas that paint didn't cover.
Nice work!!! Thank you for sharing the photo.
Today, Monday I am working on the bottom half of my S curve going from the bottom level to top level. Laying in the pink board. Placed an order with scenic express which came in on the weekend. So now I have the supplies to keep on working.........Paul
Well, been a good day. Got out some of the trees to plant somewhere on one 16 foot section. Started fooling around with the city area and of course my favorite beer has to be placed with a distribution building....makes me thirsty looking at it. Also received all my roller stuff to build my test stand and the beautiful new Army missal launch set to mach my USMC one form Marshall ( a form member) Soooo I'm happy happy happy ! Every day above ground is a good day.

Larry:
Great photos and a nice layout. Thank you for sharing. I wish you and all of us many more happy days above ground.
More drywall on walls in the basement, YUCK!!! The trains will run someday.
Updated my TIU and Remote to DCS 4.30.
Starting putting my trestle bents together to form my bridge for spanning my ravine. Getting close to running trains on the upper level again once the bridge is done. Amazing what I can get done on spring break when a job doesn't get in the way of having fun.

Got the last of the pink board in place and plaster wrapped. Tomorrow it's the start of coating it all with plaster, especially in the tunnel entrances so I can color them before putting the top cover over them...................Paul
Still working on the roundhouse roof.
The angle of the rear portion needs to be added, but it's much easier to work on it and cut templates when it lays flat.
4 stalls in, 3 more to go
This is the hood inside the roundhouse where the engine stack gets spotted under.
Yes the hole goes all the way through the roof so smoke from the engine will actually exit through the stack in the roof.
The stacks were positioned so that the BigBoy fits perfectly in the stall, and all the other engines will pull in further to get underneath the stacks.
Block retaining wall going up along the back to finally cover the "construction" look.

I finished undoing 2 months of work.........the story is here........

The roundhouse looks GREAT!!!!
I now have 4 lines running .

That was quick! It's looking good. I like the fact you have lots of light in the loft during the day. I find I need more light than I used to to be happy working on the layout and running trains.
at night is darker. doesn't help that 2 bulbs burned out the past 2 days Need to replace them it's easy now stand on the layout and replace
the loops are like this the upper loop with the MTH engine and chessie cars is DCS the middle loop outer with the Santa Fe with passenger is TMCC the inner loop same level is conventional. the lower loops are conventional also. I need to lay some more plywood to put the figure 8 in place. also need to add the 36x57 leg off the side. not In a big hurry since I have to get switches also I only had 4 so I need to buy the rest. on the figure 8 you can see the cars I picked up the other day all 13 of them price was 10 bucks each also at the end of the chessie passenger cars I finally got the dinner car which finishes that set. I put a new truck on the back of the chessie tender (MTH) doesn't look right or ride height rite but it works until I can find a new truck for it. and coupler. I added lights to the lower tunnel area so they light up the tunnel and the arch ways. and I still have a ton of track left to put the inner middle level line in. I also picked up a Lionel under arch bridge so I am thinking of along the right side of the layout lower level under the white bridge cutting a ravine in the bench work to add the bridge I would have to pick up a second one if I was going to do that .
Peter that sounds like a real PITA. Glad your other half supports the fix. Good luck with you fix.

You are quick. You sure got them trains fired up!
Laid off sick
NICE work on a obviously very detailed project.
today..I'm goofing off watching everybody else work on projects.

for a bridge section on the layout. I'll have two bridges end to end, but I have a line running under the bridge parallel so I needed a bridge support to support both bridges in the middle and allow a line to run through it . Here's what I came up with.

Finished cross bracing and tested heaviest engines across the bridge. Everything looking and feeling sound.

Building large classification yard to serve East and West bound main line and local short line.
Bryan that bridge looks great.
here's what I have been up too. just waiting for bridges to show up so I can finish the height and details.
Jhainer,
Thats looks great really like the color of the stone.

Over the last few days, I downsized, de-cluttered and reworked my small layout into an even smaller one!
This one works great with tin and postwar alike, and I think (besides being a loop) is kinda realistic to a small branchline railroad. I got the Marx crane off of the bay and just need a few more small buildings, some more scenery and to wire the yard lights!

Wired 3 new accessories with help from my 8 year old grandson... it's amazing how he can maneuver so well under the layout!!! LOL
I widened and raised a tunnel portal that's been bugging me for some time. Changed the stone paper to a concrete style portal, added weeds, vines and weathering. Now the cab-forward and bigboy can run in and out with clearance to spare!
I made the template to cut the last section of the roundhouse roof...... I got the kit a year ago this month, and the structure is almost complete. Then the details, lighting, and weathering can begin.
Sheet rocked more walls in basement which will hold a large crappy basement layout.
I feel like I am updating this every day. I hope everyone is enjoying the updates. normally I would be getting the hot rod ready for the summer season. but I tore my acl in my left shoulder so model trains are getting more attention. which really isn't a bad thing. tonight my shoulder is hurting pretty bad did way to much today with it
but here is the update for today. today was mountain and valley day.

I am, so please keep them coming.
added a few trees...
The dirt road scene is incredible! When i first (and second and third) looked at it i thought it was real, and said to myself "what is this doing in a model diorama?" Head and shoulders above 95% of what is posted here; congratulations!

I'm working under the layout today cleaning & drilling for wire Access so I'll be starting to pull wire next weekend. Photos to follow.

truescene.com is new to me. I'm looking at it's web site.
I actually ran the trains. After dinner with the neighbors everyone came over to see the trains, I think i'm ready for open house next weekend. Than the other neighbors and their family came over and ran trains again, everyone liked it so I guess I'm ready. The newspaper came over last week and did a nice article. Of course you now all the forum is invited.
