Just an fyi for newer folks. This thread has also had MANY pages "cleaned away" of what somebody considered less than relevant posts. I'd guess it could be well over 1000 pages if that hadn't been so. I can think of three involved builds of my own that are now long gone. Don't count on things remaining here long term
Bryan and I went to the forum dinner. We did sit together but on opposite sides of the table. LOL Nice turn out for the get together..........Psul
Hi All-
Work has been super busy lately, I haven't even had time to catch up at lunch. Anyway you are all doing great work.
Lee- love the box cars and trucks.
Paul and Bryan- sorry about the travel delays. At least you both arrived safely and had fun I'm sure. I gotta get there one day soon.
Mark- sorry to hear your bad news. Sad to see so many companies treat people as numbers. Hopefully it will turn around for you soon. The Halloween scene looks great BTW!
Mike- go easy on the heavy lifting this weekend.
Brian- I gotta laugh every time you post a picture of Izzy, she's one cool pooch!
Another busy weekend ahead for me. Other than Switcher Saturday over morning coffee tomorrow, no train time on the horizon. Hopefully my K-line PRR ALCO's arrive today.
Adriatic- the High Exalted Mystic Ruler of the Forum does wield a heavy hand. You are right- sometimes we do get a bit off topic and I'm sure some of it gets cleaned up. Gotta believe they needed an extra server just to host this thread.

As you can see by how Paul spelled his own name at the end of his post he has not recovered from his drinking last night. He tried to say it was his wife ordering those drinks but now we know the truth.

Hi Adriatic, You may want to consider looking for "absent" posts on other sub-sections of the forum, such as "Layout Building Forums." I noticed a couple of my postings, here, which were somewhat related to the specifics of various projects involved in making a layout, got relocated to "Scenery & Structures," under the Layout Building Forum heading.

Bryan and Paul, I'm glad you got to the OGR supper last night. Though I sat with Andy, Dave, and Scott from the Pittsburgh Independent HiRailers on my two trips to York, Last fall and spring, I met a bunch of OGR Forum members and had a great time!! The OGR Meeting at 2:00 Friday under the grandstands is a great get together as well.
Speaking of the Pittsburgh Independent HiRailers and the OGR Meeting; How about a great big applause for that group winning the coveted MTH Blue Comet Award!! I can attest that these guys are most certainly deserving of the recognition!! It is announced right inside the front cover of the 2019 catalog. I always look for them at shows in the Pittsburgh area! They have a great modular layout, and are so friendly and knowledgeable. Their schedule during the colder months is amazing, and that setup at Kennywood park is second to none! There are quite a few others on the OGR Forum than Andy, Dave, and Scott!
Bob, Nice Alcos!! Hang in there as well!
Brian, you never fail to please with photographs of models and the prototype!!
Adriatic, Keep posting away! Your work and humor are always well appreciated!!

Bummer Pete! Andy Hummell took me under his wing on my first trip last October! I read Clem’s Primer, but Andy really helped orient me and pointed out the scheduled events!
I'm wondering who has more bruises on thier shins after Paul & Bryan sat across from each other
Thanks Frank, but most of the posts I was referring to have keywords not used too often. A search used to bring up plenty, now it brings up nothing, or darn close to it. From a info point of view, the wrong posts got deleted; the meat was here.
Friday I hit the Orange hall. On the second trip through I found a bunch of period vehicles for 10 dollars apiece plus found red LED's for the end of the observation car. Plus stopped in Gryzboski's and found a scale PS-1 flat car with covered load for 45 dollars....Paul
Sounds great Paul! I always look forward to seeing what Gryz has at Monroeville! Always good deals to be had!
I haven't done much on the layout the past few days due to a new addition to the house-
Meet Sweet Pea!
She's a dachshund/poodle crossbreed, 8 weeks old and only weighs just over a single pound. She's tiny but alsoSO cute!
We haven't had a puppy in many years so we're having to re-learn how to deal with one. So needless to say, she's taking up our time at the moment (which for the most part, I'm just fine with).
She is so tiny that she could almost take a ride on my new project once it's done. I'm working on a project to turn a cheap Bachmann On30 obs car find at a recent model show (got a set of obs/coach/combine in Xmas markings, excellent condition, for just $40 total) into a 'business' car for my layout. It won't really go with the concept of my layout, it's just something to take to other On30 layouts and to just have a project...
Lee, Sweet Pea is the same size at 8 weeks as the dachshund-rat terrier our youngest daughter and her husband got this summer. Sweet Pea is very cute, and I can see why she is taking a lot of your time.
Made some progress on the main lines which are descending down a 1.5% grade, got the roadbed done, bent the wide sweeping curves in the main lines, and got the cinder covered grade work completed. I'll finish the ballasting work that I started this afternoon, then put the whole 8 foot long section in place, and go back to competing the cork roadbed and laying track on the lower level. The first photo is where I was about a week and a half ago....
Looking good.
I haven't decided if I hate ballasting or painting rails more. They are both tedious but worth it in the end.
Installed the spur for the future home of the Enola NRHS on the layout. I’m now on hold until the order from Plastruct arrives so that I can build the cover over the track. I plan to make the area look like a 1 track version of the VMT. I will use the Walthers freight house along with the cover.
hello Sweet Pea ! wanna come over and help work on some trains ?
and maybe some ice cream...

I like ice cream...
well come on over you too Ted...
' IZZY ' where are you manners... save some for others !
Sweet Pea has yet to see my layout but I bet she'd like meeting other O scaler pooches!
I was playing with her this morning and I heard her bark for the first time. Even her bark was small and cute.
After reading all the gripes & complaints on the forum I went to my poor man's layout and hugged my old pre-war and early post war trains plus the Standard Gaugers just waiting to run.
The Michigan vs Michigan State game is in Severe T-Storm Warning, delay. Took my Union Break and got a corn beef sandwich for the big game. AT my local butcher shop. “Go Spartans’ - ‘Go Green’. At this time the score is Michigan 7 and Michigan State 0.
Now back to work on my long running seated figures. Have the Amtrak train under control but going to try some Union Pacific Cars. These passengers are waiting to take their seats.

Chris, the new trackwork and hillside look great! It is really coming along!
NS6770Fan, A little work at a time will add up to a great looking model!
Jim, There is much good sense in your affection of your postwar gems!
Brian, Wow, Izzy, Sweet Pea, and Ted's dog would have a big Bryer's party until Little Orphan Annie came to join in. Annie was a drop off in front of our house and now has been with us over 8 years. She likes Ice Cream too!
Oh, our daughter's dog, Frisk, is running for ice cream; all 3 pounds of her.
Frisk looks like such a little cutie! I love that shot of pup at full gallop.
I just introduced Sweet Pea to the layout, and she took an unnatural interest in walking the main line, at least a small portion of it.
It's a good thing she's way too short to ever even dream of getting up on the layout on her own, otherwise I might have trouble with op sessions for animals on the track!
Well got a little done on the layout this afternoon. I tried out this new gorilla glue adhesive seems to work OK but it’s awful expensive for such a little tube. I put the road down with it I also weathered the road with old fireplace wood ashes that I saved I like the way it looks I guess that’s all it matters and I also painted my coaling tower a granite gray acrylic paint enjoy the pics.
Sweat Pea is a narrow gauger at heart!
That gray makes that tower look so much better Lee!
Lee, it's looking great.... After using acrylic paint on my Lionel coaling tower, I weathered it some more with india ink diluted with alcohol... it helped bring out the wood grain even further. You can try a test on a small area that's not visible on the vertical coal chute/elevator.
Mark thanks for the kind words. Hope you are doing well...
I had a productive day, got all ballast done on the new section of main line !!! Boy it takes me a long time to do ballast... Put the whole main line section in place and just finished running some trains down that section. Really wanted to take the large B & O EM-1 articulated on this section and make sure I was clearing the cinder & ashes on the incline..... Everything clears, thank goodness. Now I'll just have to blend the new cinder covered incline in with what I did a year ago as I am ballasting the main under the signal bridge... Looking forward to completing the lower level and then adding the next 8 foot section.
Chris, I'm doing pretty good!! Thank you!
Oh, you have a B&O EM-1! Wow! It looks fantastic! Yes, I agree you would want to get it out on new rails soon to check clearances!! The 765 isn't too shabby either!! The scenery is all looking fantastic!!

Hey all!
Catching up as usual. It's good to see the progress being made by the multi talented here. All Nation kits. The gateway drug to all out scale railroad modeling. I still have a few unbuilt kits for when time permits.
It's those pics above!!!! The date is Oct 27, 1959. There's Lee's fancy shmancy spankin' new '60 Corvair! Says it really makes yard roads feel like turnpike. I
It has been a strange, unproductive week here. I became stuck on a project due to a bent loco axle. Moved on to another steamer but now debating whether to convert it to 3 rail. Easy to see when his will, not mine is in charge.
Bruce
Wow thanks Bruce!! but I was going for Early spring 1964 and that corvair is my favorite car on the layout I love corvairs! Thanks for the awesome comments you miss my Birthday by 2days it’s the 29th
I would like to find a Corvair too. A high school friend had on and it was a fun ride!
