Ralph, great idea! Make what you want!

Chugman, Thank so much! Means a lot coming from someone with such a great layout as yours!

Larry (PSAP2010), Sounds like you have been having a lot of fun with those cars! Yep Menards built it now I have to get it! YEE HAW!

Brian, great pictures! Just wondering if Marci took them? LOL

Paul, Your moving right along! Looks good! I hope you have a Happy Easter with your kids!

Got up this morning and went out and got the lights on my one tank fixed, the did some kit bashing for the engine shed! Don't freak out guys I would have done it but I have 2 of these  buildings. You who know will know what I am talking about! Now back to the train room!20190418_11364520190418_11363320190418_113619

I disassembled the HO track on the west side of MUK (My Underwater Kingdom).  Despite cleaning it with rubbing alcohol a few days ago, when I did each piece by hand I found some of them thick with black grit. It is the hardest-to-reach part of my lay-out, and I have more trouble with it than with the rest of the lay-out combined.

Someone on this forum suggested that I use a heavier loco on that track--because it is short and hard to get to a straight track, I have only used small locos on it. I'll try that on my next lay-out.

But on Thursday, we're going to Guadalajara and I intend to buy a new train!

Is it going to be a O scale?

No. I would prefer O scale, but the Cuddlee and I live in a small house. MUK exists on a 6' by 8' table.

Very understandable Have a Happy Easter my friend

Well I haven't been here for two days again!  Lots of great projects for sure!!!

Sara, Your train room looks great already!!!

Vincent, We wouldn't disown you!  It's a bummer you didn't have much success in Guadalajara, but the Lego items are great!  They sure have come a long way since the simple building block set I had in the '60s!!

Lew, that is a very interesting marking on the Wabash car! "When empty send back to Brian"

Paul, the latest roadbed is looking great!  I need some paint myself, but only had time to stop at the Ace Hardware store that opened up in the little shopping center near me.  I like to take business there because I don't want them to leave.  The privately owned store that was there since '58 closed a few years ago due to the owner's death and I missed it.  The slogan was "Your Favorite Store"  However, all Ace had was expensive paint bases.  I'll have to stop at Lowes and Home Depot to see if I can find a can of returned paint that will work for me.

Hi everyone, I see there is a lot of great work being done! I am just going to mention a couple people as I am whooped from work today and its going to be an early night! Getting up at 3:30 AM Is not my idea of fun! LOL

Lee, Nice Hat! Great find and it looks good on you!

Johan, Amazing work! Such a life like scene it truly comes to life! I cant wait to see what you come up with next! I know one thing you sure set the bar high!

Vincent, All I can say is you might need to seek professional help as I think you may have gone off the deep end! May the force be with you !

Everyone, have a great Easter Weekend!

Mike. Thank you very much. I have also work day today, quite boring, but thats life. Happy Easter. 👍

Johan

I haven't  seen my layout since Feb 25th! Had surgery to repair injuries from an on duty incident where I was  hit by a drunk driver at a construction site 2.5 years ago. I will not see the basement  for 14 - 16 more weeks !

I have built my Plasticville kits and made repairs to some used kits I have. Drafting plans for an upper level and a passenger two track station off my main loop. The layout is 8x10.

I brought up a bunch of stuff to have  with me including my small N scale collection and I set that up on the dinning room table, it's not O gauge but I  can run trains and the grandsons love it!

And yes, I am going out of my mind with boredom!

I wish all members a very happy Easter and Passover.

Patrick, I bet you had fun running the Lake Shore Limited on such a great layout!

Lee D. I guess your going to have to slow down on the trailers or add onto your layout! Looks great!

Frank, Sorry for your injuries! That was my biggest fear while working for our local D.O.T . I wish you the best of luck getting back on your feet and back to your layout soon!

Getting ready to head off to work, but hope to get out to the train room later and layout some buildings to see where they might fit best! I really don't have a lot of room cause the tracks are so close together. But the wife and I will figure it out!

Everyone have a great Easter Saturday!

Lee- similar to Andy's technique I ran my road (thin corrugated cardboard) up to the rail edge. The gap across the rails is 1/16" balsa. Filled the gaps with gravel and ground cover.

Granted I'm not doing anything as complex as the LIRR Main Line- Oyster Bay Branch Interlocking

Or just run gravel right to the rail for a different look.

Well, here it is. This is the "beta version" as it's about 98% complete. I still have to do the number boards and I'm not wild about the horn MTH placed atop the cab. Might have to change those. This is the non-powered dummy that will go with the  NYC GP30 I'll convert next. Thought I'd practice on this one before I do it all again for the powered unit. At some point I'll dig out my airbrush and add some rust/weathering.

Andy and Bob, nice looking grade crossings!

Lee, I love your trucks and automobiles!

Howard, Excellent photographs of your layout!

Frank, I am so sorry you had the accident, but am glad you are recovering, though it is so slow!  I think of all the things I will do when I retire in two or three years, but don't like the prospects of being laid up for an extended period!

Ralph, The Penn Central engine looks great right out of the paint shop!

Happy Easter and Happy Passover!

Ralph- the engine looks great

Thanks Lee. My crossing was supposed to be done in wood too, but due to the complexity, I ran for the hills and took the easy way out . Thanks Bob, I like your crossing too. Well done. Happy Easter and happy Passover to all who celebrate. Thank you for the kind words Mark. Nice work on the engine Ralph, it looks great.

These are beautiful scenes, Gandydancer, truly. They are full of action and life, vibrant and interesting. They add to our enjoyment of the trains, which, IMHO, is the job scenery is supposed to do, and you sure have that idea evidenced here perfectly. Congratulations on your success with this effort.

Its almost like we are viewing this via using a drone that is flying over a real-life area, giving us a glimpse of a happy community from the 50's.

Hi everyone, I just handed out a boat load of likes! I would comment on all your great work, but I am just too beat! Just got home from the store after 13 hours of people wanting this and that! I love having customers, but heck were nice to them, give it back sometimes!

I hope you all have a great Easter and I should be in a better mood tomorrow! LOL

Vincent, at least they gave you some instruction books, there are times I got things with nothing! LOL

Mark, I know likes are good, but I really like to comment on people and the great work they are doing! You know give them an atta boy! But last night I was just too beat!

Well Im up early again getting ready to head to the store, I hope to get out of there early today so I can get in the train room and get the trim out on my Engine Building so I can call that done. Then I want to place some buildings on the layout to see how things are shaping up!

Everyone have a great Easter!
