Lee D. I have to agree with Lee, Great looking truck and load! Nice detail!
Dave, what a great looking layout! I might get somewhere near there in a couple of years if I am lucky! LOL
Hi Guys, Thanks to Butch, Johan, Dave and Lee I did some changes in the train room. Some of it was harder then I thought and consisted of more construction lol! So I enlarged the platform where the nuclear plant is so I could move the power and light plant there. Then I moved the Menards power plant to the other corner. I also moved the salt plant down further towards the Tank farm. The roads are going to be the hard part, some of the places I don't even know where to try. From the power plant I made a ramp and temp bridge. The road will go across the bridge then under the upper rail line! Here are some pictures so far.
Thanks again guys!
Hey Mike- lookin' good. The roads don't have to go some place unlike the trains. The power plants could have a road start at the wall and just serve the two plants. Or as Andy said, just having a road with cars and trucks can be enough. Don't forget the crossing gates and flashers if a road crosses the tracks too.
Catching up from yesterday, I think the guys have just about covered everything with the building placements. Looks to me like your on the right track (pun intended)

Got that part covered already Paul. Thanks.
Bob, nice run around the tracks! I hope you have a great day!

Lee, great trucks and scenes, as always.
Dave, are you kidding me? You have a singular talent for scenery my friend. Wow!
Andy
Andy. Thank you.
Johan
I finished constructing my Lego dead rail train, disassembled the test track on the floor, and set it up on MUK (My Underwater Kingdom).
Brian, that is an interesting effect: an otherwise B&W photo with red crossing flashers.
Lew
Dave, great scenery. As they say on the west coast "totally awesome dude".
Johan, another good looking scene.
Gandydancer1950, great shots of your good looking layout.
Mike, wow, I think you are going to surpass dad on buildings in no time at all.
Bob, nice buy and one of the best paint schemes going. Love D & H.
Lee, the LED lighting makes a difference.
Weekend was spent in Michigan with the kids and grandkids. But while there I got an email from Menards my building and free truck was in. So today I went to get it and while there I picked up a clamp set and some fiber tape for drywall to try on the edge of the table to hold down the plaster better. Plus they still had the grabbers with an 8 dollar rebate so I got another one. Hoping tomorrow with a little bit of yard work forst I can work on the layout. Some pics. I really like this building...........Paul 2
Your new set looks sharp Bob. Where is your jury duty? Paul, I like your new acquisitions.
Andy
Nice stuff guys!
Bob. Enjoy your train run those sharks takes me back to one of my first train set I ever had it was a HO Tyco Rock Island train set
Mike you chugging along well
Paul2. Did I see a senior stick on your haul of goodies are you showing your age?😄 I do like your Menards truck
Brian. You never seem to amaze me with your great pics my friend
Johan. Beautiful shots of the layout as always
Evening everyone, I hope you all had a great day today!
Paul 2, Great looking building! Does it have a floor in the area where the train can pass threw? Also I hope you get done with your yard work really really fast! LOL
LEE D, Thanks a little here and a little there adds up!
So I went out to the train room this morning wanting to work on the corner with the airfield. But one thing had been bothering me, The curve in that corner was still 054 and every time the train would go threw the car no matter which one I put behind the engine would tip. For the longest time I thought to myself its ok, it doesn't derail and no one will ever see it under the airfield. Well this morning I said screw it and took up the last 4 pieces of 054 and replaced it 072 and man is it much smoother! I really like it now and I know I wont have to worry!
I shot a little video and while I was at it I thought it would be a nice quick little tour of the train room! ENJOY!
Nice Ralph! Next thing you know it you will have a whole fleet of them! Looks Great!
Mike. Love that video! What a awesome layout your going to have and I love the Marines sign. If I have never thank you before then Thank You sir for keeping me safe in our wonderful country outside of Heaven. And my friend that’s my kind of Manifest
Ralph. Keep the B&O and the C&O coming.

Buschhhhhhh!
Thanks Dr. Joe! I am glad you enjoyed it, I still have along ways to go, but have already came along ways to get here!
SO I know there are other places to ask this, but just wondering for those who use DCS what step speed are you set at?
Mike, looks great, they run nice and smooth. Sometimes the little things make a big difference. Thanks for the video. Ralph, the engines are looking good. Lee, nice addition. Great scene.

Thanks Andy, your right sometimes it is just the little things! It really makes me happy now! LOL
I remember this thread was originally about encouraging a bit of work on the layout each day, no matter how modest. Some days I get a lot done, and some days...
Today I spent just a few minutes wiring up some #70 yard lights for my new sidings. They are pretty dim so I may change the bulbs out to LEDs. Anyone know where I can get some decent ones that don’t have that blue LED hue?
Also went and picked up this fun little set from a neighbor who was selling it for a friend. Will be nice around the Christmas tree. Lots of cleaning in my future!
Hope everyone had a nice Easter weekend!
Kevin
Lee, P51, great B & W pics.
Lee, I am not showing my age. When I was at Menards I couldn't pass up the deal. It was 8.99 with a 8.00 rebate. Paul 2
Kevin, here’s a color temperature chart on leds. As you see, if you stay below 3000(warm white), I think you will have the color you want.
Lee. Your pics look so real had to do a double take on the Jeep pic.
Paul. Now that’s a good deal I’m just kidding you been thinking of getting one myself I’ve watched my Mother in law use hers there handy.
Kevin. That’s a nice train set you have I’m sure you will make it look nice
Thanks to all who left likes and complements. Keep up the great work always look forward to what’s new on the thread
Kevin, the yard lights are a nice addition, you get LED's off the Bay for next to nothing! Nice score on the tinplate, don't clean them to much, they kinda look cool the way they are!
Lee, AMAZING photos! I didn't know cell phones would take black and white photos! Sure show the attention to detail on your layout!
Ted, cool little chart you provided! Thanks!
I think I will go out to the train room and try to get something done before work. Not sure what if anything, but we will see!
I hope everyone has a great Humpday!
Mike g, and Ralph m, and Lee Drennen, and P51, great pictures and Mike g, I love that video....You’ve come a long way...Wow. By the way, thank you for your service to our Great country, and to others here that have courageously served in the armed forces. I live 3 miles from Ft Campbell, Home of The Screaming Eagles. This is a large base, great people. I really enjoy seeing all the nice work everyone’s doing and it’s all about having Fun. I have been doing yard work, garage sales, and cleaning up things. New pictures soon. Have a great day and make Someone happy. Happy Railroading
Hi guys- been a busy couple of days. I finished jury duty Monday. The case was settled and we didn't even get sworn in. They sent us on our way 11 AM. I can't complain...this was my third time serving and first to get called for a jury. Then the fun began....my son is into X-box and gaming (not trains unfortunately). He's been bugging us to set up the basement more to suit his wants. You can tell where this is going.... I've lost my desk and potential yard expansion space We are now "sharing" my desk. Oh well.... He's happy which is the important part. I'll get the basement to myself one day. I did offer to dismantle my layout and switch sides of the room with him but the CEO wasn't biting...
We spent yesterday afternoon at DMV. My wife had to renew her license and I decided that since we were there, I'd upgrade mine to the new federally compliant version. After waiting an hour and a half we got called up. Turns out the Social Security card I've had my entire life is not actually the card but the stub. The DMV wouldn't accept it as ID so now I have to go to SS and get a new card....and then back to DMV on day.
Mike- the run around the train room looks great. I'm sure you are glad you changed that curve. It would have bothered you every time a train went around the corner.
Andy- I was in Mineola, NYS Supreme Court. I think you may be slightly familiar with the spot.....
Vincent- The video wouldn't play for me. Sometimes .avi formats don't cooperate with Windows 10. I did see the one with the kitten on the floor, very cute.
Paul- nice haul. The new brewery is going to look good on your layout. Hey I'll take a $8 item for a buck any day.
Lee D- expanding into the wholesale fruit market now?
Lee P51- great shots. I especially like the one looking up at the log cabin.
Ralph- those SD-9's look great.
Kevin- I commented on your thread about the new trains. Great find!
My Sharks shipped yesterday so I should have them early next week.
Have a great day everyone.
Bob

RSJB, the video won't play on Microsoft Edge or Firefox, but plays well on the Google Chrome browser.
I'm a firefox user so I will try Chrome. Tx

Thanks Mike (and Bob, too!).
The cell shots are in color, but I use an app called, "Snapseed" which can give you all kinds of effects
Lee P51- great shots. I especially like the one looking up at the log cabin.
Thanks, Bob. That's a tough shot to get as the cell has to sit on the tracks, but I also love looking up at it like that.
