Brian, Some great engines! You seem to never run out of new pictures of your engines! Very Nice!

Curtish, thanks for the advice. It took 3 days after work to get most of the limbs picked up , still have to buck and split the logs now for next winter.

Bill nice work on the control panel, looks good!

Paul, looks like an extended break from trains for me . The CEO had decided she now would like French doors and a deck to go with them out the front of the house. Guess I will be doing that before I get around to bucking and splitting my firewood.

Jim, your moving right along with the layout, Things are really looking nice cant wait to see it back in it new home!

Aronld what a great scene! Really show your love of the game!

Mark I am sorry to hear about the house sell, I bet there are many memories from there that you will carry with you forever! I hope you take care of your knee till you get the new one. Also make sure you have plenty of supplies to work with while your recovering from your new knee install!

DL9Turbo2, The bridge looks amazing!

Lou, things are looking good! Keep up the great work!

B&O, wonderful job on the station!

Patrick, WOW The lake looks just amazing! The little touches you made make a world of difference!

So as I mentioned earlier, looks like an extend break from trains for me as the CEO wants some more projects done before the weather changes. It is what it is, but I really need to get back at it, while I was cleaning up branches I had 2 visitors that had never seen the train room and wanted to see it. I ran a train for them and have one switch that is giving me problems both time. I really need to get that fixed soon!

Well its Tuesday and I sure hope you all had a great weekend and find some time to have some fun with your trains today!

Finally got my train station wired up and added lights out front.20190902_160710

Very nice B&O Fan!!! Very beautiful facade!  The lighting is superb!   Love the down under portion too!  Just wondering if this is a prototype B&O station?

This is a station that never was. I used another poster's example of using 4 MTH banks to build the station. Some of the cuts to get them apart took a bit of effort because of the thick plastic. Took me almost a year to complete as I got stuck at one point and had to set it aside until I came up with a solution to part of the facade assembly that had me stumped.

Scott

Great job Scott!!!  I would have never know the station was a kitbash of 4 MTH banks without you saying so.  Btw - I'm a B&O fan as well.

Mike, Thank you very much!!  I’m typing while getting the electrodes and hot towels at the beginning of PT!

You are right about having memories dating to probably 1958, my first memories of any thing.  Train related, I recall trying to go to sleep in the summer with the windows open and hearing the old B&O Funits horns at the crossing a half mile away.  They were headed too or from Pittsburgh.  I wished I had been just a bit older to have heard the old mallets struggle up Bakerstown Hill.

Not much to show today.  Unfortunately the backdrop did not get delivered today.   USPS said it is stuck in transit.  Hopefully tomorrow.

I did get about 10 minutes of work in and started to wire up the transformers to the terminal blocks.  I need to find where I put the other ones I have from previous layouts.

I roughed in some landscaping around the new hamlet of Pleasantville, installed a delivery in front of the grocery store from (real-life) grandma's farm to the store mom runs.  Printed a picture of her roughly to scale, photoshopped behind a counter and put that inside the grocery. Need to find some scale (1:48-1:50) dogs and a few townsfolk that have decent detail (as opposed to the the generic figures off the 'bay meant for passenger cars).

Scott,

Very nice!  I like all the little details, the trees in the planters for example.  Things like that make the scene "pop".

Vincent, sure sounds like your going to busy for awhile! I hope things go smooth for you putting everything back along with the new train set!

Mark, Memories are the best, I remember when I was younger we would go up to the local tracks and put coins on the rail and spend plenty of time searching for them after the train has flattened them. Good luck with your PT and take it easy!

Brian, Very cool photo!

Scottv, Looks wonderful! Landscaping sure helps bring things to life!

Tom, Looks like you have a good start! You might think about getting the sheetrock done before you get to much on the table! LOL

Well nothing new here, but I did want to keep up with what everyone is doing! Nice work by all!

Well its Hump day so I hope everyone is already planning for there weekend! Maybe some train time would be good for all! Either way I sure hope you all find time for a little fun today!

Not much action on the layout of late.  I did a panel on "Tales of the Rails" at Mephit Furmeet over Labor Day weekend,  and Fortescue and Friends were featured in the NW Arkansas Democrat-Gazette as part of Frisco Fest the previous weekend...

Mitch;

Great display, as usual. You continue to be a credit to the hobby (not to mention the animal kingdom  ).

One question... in the second pic, it appears that there is a piece of Fastrack with rows of LED’s on either side. What is that all about???

Aw, shucks.

Near as I can tell, it's a home made track for the Polar Express.  When wired up properly,  the lights light up when the train crosses the track;  one theory is that it's supposed to represent going across the ice...

Poured in "Murky Water" into our pond, complete with fly fisherman:

We need to start "planting" trees around the pond next, finish our ground cover on the top table, then lay our ballast.  Any recommendations or tips for trees? I think I may plant some Sedum and see if I can harvest it in a couple of months when it starts cooling off. I'm not sure what I'll do for pine trees just yet...

Regarding the newsprint links the looks by the children were so innocent and children's moments were surely captured.

I visited the shots numerous times.

Layout us is a great focus for the visitors

I bought this RailKing Imperial USRA 0-8-0 in New Haven in 2016. It was on sale at a ridiculous discount and even though I really wanted one in WM I bought it anyway because it was such a deal. I reasoned that I could just re-decal it for WM later. What I didn’t count on was not being able to find any O scale WM steam locomotive decals  for 3 years– until now!NH 0-8-0_0700

At first I wasn’t going to use the Fireball logo but I’m glad I did. - it really adds some zip to an otherwise all black loco. I looked at old photos of WM 0-8-0’s and noted that those that got the Fireball logo only got that and the letters “Western Maryland" but no pin stripes. I'll probab1y re-number the loco to match the WM roster,

everything is shaping up well and looking great! I can’t wait till it cools down so I can get started on the other half of my layout.

lew every time I see you layout it reminds me of my grandparents house in there attic where the widows are in the pic . One end was my moms room the other was my aunts. I was wanting to buy it last year but I couldn’t talk the wife and girls to move to Desoto Mo.
