I have the next 6 days off of work so I plan to put together my Christmas Layout. I am using O27 track. What size screw should I pick up from Home Depot to screw it down. It will be screwed down directly to wood, no cork roadbed under it. I am not worried about sound transfer.

I find plain ol' Gargraves Track screws do the job just fine
Get yourself a bag of Gargraves 1/2 inch track screws and a cordless screwdriver and you'll be done in 10 minutes.

If you are going to Home Depot or Lowes, just get a package of #4 x 1/2" pan head sheet metal screws.
Posted on another track screw thread.
Top to bottom
#6 X 1" Drywall screw (Flat head)
#6 X 1/2" Flat head screw
#4 X 1" pan head screw
#4 X 1/2" pan head screw
#4 X 1/2" pan head screw black
#4 X 3/4" flat head screw black
#4 X 1/2" flat head screw
#4 X 1/2" flat head screw
#2 X 1/2" flat head screw
#2 X 1" pan head (Atlas) track screw
#2 X 1/4" pan head screw
When I used 0-27 track, I used 3/4 #3 round head wood screws.
Gargraves screws are #4, Home Depot or Ace hardware has these (around here anyway) probably also Lowes. #3's are very hard to find around here, N/A at my local Home Depot's, Lowes and Ace hardware's (I have not found them anywhere locally). However, Atlas Track screws are #3 and what I used with my Atlas O track, LHS has these in stock. We don't have a Menards nearby, never tried looking there.
