I have done a lot of reading on the forum about the timko wheel and gear puller. Does anyone know if this will work on the MTH diesel wheels and the motor flywheels ? Also can you tell me what press I could use to get the wheels back on the axels ? Thank you

No one knows ? Also need to know what wheel cups are needed if any at all to get the wheels back on the axel.
Have you called or emailed Frank Timko?

Although it looks good in that picture, those jaws won't fit between a wheel and a motor frame. It looks like the center portion is extended as far as it can go, which means it cannot press the axle any further and you would need some sort of pin on the center part, otherwise you won't be able to push the axle out of the wheel. Overall pretty useless for toy train applications.
Not sure about the Timko wheel puller for MTH use, but it works great on prewar trains. I use a small arbor press to press the wheels onto the axles.
The Timko wheel puller works great on modern wheels, flywheels, etc.
I believe the " Wheel puller" is referred to as a gear puller In industry , and a 1 ton arbor press will still give you all the pressure you will need , and the dies can be machined and or cast out of urethane
Thanks all... I went ahead a emailed Mr. Timko to order his wheel puller. And thanks John, that was the answer I was looking for in reference to the puller. And thank you Dave I am currently looking at a micro mark press and there is a company that offered to make me a wheel cup set as soon as I can send them a diesel wheel.
