Here's a cool train-related story for you. To quote the story on USA Today's For The Win:
"The Montgomery Biscuits, a Class AA affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, play their home games in a park built around an abandoned train facility. It’s a cool design and it’s a great place to watch a game. And since there’s still an active train track just beyond the left-field wall, it gives young sluggers like White Sox prospect Courtney Hawkins the opportunity to smash freight trains with homers."
Hawkins told MiLB.com about his accomplishment:
“You can actually hear it,” Hawkins said of the train. “People let me know real quick. I wasn’t actually trying to hit it, but when it left the bat, you can hear everybody say, ‘Hit the train! hit the train!’ It was pretty cool. It was one of those feelings, you know when you make hard contact.”
"The 21-year-old Hawkins is off to a solid start for the Birmingham Barons, with five home runs and an .815 OPS through Sunday."
