As promised, I have returned from Colorado, and set up all the Acela sets to run together.

Wholly Smokes. Now, You da man!
wow! Still my favorite set. That was really cool to see all those running together.
Impressive Paul !!!!
Nice!
WELL DONE, THANKS FOR SHARING
And I can't even get one working!
I know magicians never reveal their secrets, but you have to come clean on this trick. Are you editing the video, using mirrors?!?!
They sure look awesome running next to each other with all the extra cars.
Impressive, fun run. How do you keep the cars’ IR signal links from breaking?
Quite an accomplishment.

Wow. Impressive. Most people can't stand owning one due to all the problems. What's your secret to having 3 sets working well?
Job well done. It looks awesome. You should run the middle set in the opposite direction. I think that would look cool seeing two sets pass each other.
Ok, the next attempt will be with the nine passenger car set in the middle going the opposite direction.
Simpy Awesome! You've got some big $$$ on those tracks! Nice work!
WOW!
Great!!
Real Nice!!!
Really fun seeing them run so well.....
Peter
That's three times the number of Lionel Acelas I've ever seen actually running!
Prior to this the world record was one Acela Set running.
Scott Smith
Great job, Paul! Nice going!
Jesse
Cool! I have only 1 Acela set - must get it on the tracks and see if it is still running.
CONFOUND THOSE ACELAS!
;-)
Mitch
Well, now we know who has cornered the market on Acelas.
Paul
Very cool !
Alex
What we are missing is those long trains stopping and opening all of their doors.
Brutal.
YES, all the doors on all the passenger cars open and close when stopped in the station.
All the cars tilt and return to the center position.
Video to Follow.
If any of you have a set that is not working, between Alex M in the east, and myself in the Midwest, we can help with your issues with these sets. Either by answering your questions, or by hands on repairs.
Paul -
You are light at the end of the tunnel. I have a full Acela set just collecting dust under the layout.
I did replace the traction tires, but gave up on getting the pantagraphs operating ... how do you know if the its the motors, actuators or the boards?
The car tilts do not work. but all the doors do open and close as long as the IR tether can talk to each other.
Hey JDaddy,
Transfering this Conversation to e-mail, see you there.
That looks very nice seeing all three running, I have read about all the problem with them. I would really like to get one, but they are extremely pricey on the Second Hand Market. So probably won't get one of those either. There are three engines I would really like to have on my layout, the Acela is one, because I think it looks cool. The other two are the MTH Amtrak Turbo Train and the Legacy Polar Express, which I know Lionel released recently, but I was unable to order.

Five Star Post - Many Thanks
Former record was one set running.
Chris Sheldon
Amtrak probably holds the record. Counted nine between Washington and Boston on Thursday afternoon.
Certainly not in the same frame. Nice videos.

As requested by Joe F.
Hey Big Jim,
Here's the video of the Acela's stopped with all the doors open.
You to can be a Acela Fella
Very cool! Thanks for posting.
Awesome videos I hit like on every one! If possible, can you show a video with a long Acela stopping at the station and opening all the doors? Maybe be able to hear the announcements too? Great work Paul! The layout looks fantastic also!
