Didn't I hear that the Protocast and recording custom sounds features will be added to the WTIU in a future firmware release?

Yes, I believe the plan is to use a smart device to either play music or broadcast your voice through your smart device. No more 3.5mm jacks for analog input.
The new WTIU does not have a jack, just usb port and other ports, no jack at all
Would adding a second TIU + WIU to a WTIU give protocast availability?
I run HO and have wanted to use my TIU + WIU to run that. Many years ago I purchase a TIU not realizing that variable channels do not allow for DC to be passed through. The WTIU sounds like what I need. Rather than getting rid of my old TIU+WIU, couldn't I add the TIU allowing the use of protocast and even an additional bank of AIU's if needed? Can you think of any advantages of adding the TIU to the WTIU?
