Family and friends, Cowboy Action Shooting (Single Action Shooting Society), and collecting guns of the old west from about 1850, and early 20th Century up to WWII.

I also write western novels (two published) and love classic movies from (or depicting) the times above.

And my 1954 Marx and a growing pile of Plasticville, Marx, and other structures. I'm still working on finding a place for a 4' x 10'layout.

I was involved with Classic Boats, the powered runabout kinds.  Had a Chris Craft 1958 Silver Arrow, a Century 1957 Arabian and a 1963 Resorter.  I was Commodore (President) of the Midwest Antique and Classic Boat ***'n for a while.  Kind of got away from the wooden boats but I still have a 1974 Century Mach II, a true runabout, which I keep behind our home on a channel in the summer time.  It's an inboard with a 360 Chrysler and will go about 50mph.

But come the first signs of fall, the boat gets put away and we're back to the trains in the basement!

I have a few hobbies and I don't know which ones can be described as "other".

When I am not in the basement during winter season I am out in the garage working on my car collection, participating in a car show, vacationing by train in a sleeper, going to museums, collecting antiques like clocks, phones, Edison Phonographs, early Americana, drag racing and shooting powerful guns. The hobbies seem to change with the season. Who wants to be cooped up in the basement with trains when the weather is nice?
