My Z4000 needs to be repaired. It is from 2010, and when I turn the power switch on, the red light immediately comes on and it pops its 12amp breaker. This is even with nothing hooked up. Must be shorted out inside. Does anyone repair these outside of MTH?  I called them today and they said repairs are closed indefinitely because of COVID.

I figured I would ask on here.

Thanks

The problem is expense of shipping, plus the boards.  I have repaired them, on certain symptoms that allow chip repair.  But many times it does require whole board replacement, which MTH typically does not let tech's have access to the boards. Techs have to call in to get approval for part to be released.  Also the crap shoot of which board is it, power or control. MTH is really the best choice here as Don does these, and has access to boards for salvage.  Of course it may be a simple Power FET or a TVS diode causing your issue allowing it to be replaced at the component level.  G
