Yes, in the 1980's, and it was dubbed the 600E, but was only made in limited quantities by its builder. They are VERY prized locos today!

Trainman 713. Thanks for the great picture. You have created a need for one. To me it looks better than a Big Boy. Does anyone have a clear picture of the two page blog that has a readable second page.

The 600E was made by Liberty Lines, i.e., Harlen Creswell, in Seattle WA. He also manufactured a huge Milwaukee Road BiPolar that was about the size of MTH's/LCT's Brute but had more motors on more axles giving it greater pulling power than the Brute.

Yes! And a really cool feature of the Liberty Lines bipolar is that it has operating pantographs, which at the flick of a switch allow it to receive electrical power either via rollers on the center rail of Standard Gauge track or via its pantographs and an overhead cantenary system.
I would post a picture of my Liberty Lines Bipolar but I haven't been able to get the forum's picture attachment system to work on my computer today.

The two HUGE can motors in the Brute (with or without traction tires) make it NO slouch in the pulling dept.!
NOTE: I run my Brute with conventional drive wheels in place of the traction tired wheels, and it pulls the four-car Showroom consist with ease. Just do not like traction tires on standard gauge locos.
