I really feel bad for the almost 87,000 family's in Maine that won't have power on Christmas, & the tempature is going to be five above to 10 below tonite. I know this has nothing to do with trains, but I just felt like putting this on here. Merry Christmas to all & to all a good night.

Vermont too.  I have power here, but I spent the day hooking up a generator for my brother who lives next town over.  Power company says 3 or 4 days before they will have it restored.

Inch of ice on everything, the weight on trees, power lines, everything, is intense.  North facing windows and walls are coated in so much ice you cannot see out.  Already 8 degrees at 8:30pm, headed down.

Ice storm of 1998 I was out of power for 10 days.  Same scenario, after the ice took out the power, it went to zero.  Made a lot of changes after that with standby generators.  Okay so far, but the trains may be running on generator power before this is over.

A lot of folks up here still have wood stoves, we're stoking them tonight.

Merry Christmas Eddie.
