Hi guys
I'm having difficulties adding abbreviated links.
For example, I want to have an abbreviated link to my layout thread under my signature.
So, I am putting the standard link inside these brackets . . . [ ] then adding Port Elderley followed by [/url]
On my forum, that puts Port Elderley below the signature.
Here is the un-abbreviated link . . . https://ogrforum.com/t...port-elderley?page=1
I'll keep on trying, but I can't spot where I'm going wrong.

try this: (remove the quotes(1st and last only) - this is the source code for the above, hopefully works the same in your signature)

This is what I got.
OK. Having never set up my own sig, I hadn't realized it showed the same GUI as a post.
Copy your link address. Go to your sig setup in your profile. Hit the Link icon (next to the I for Italics). Copy your link into the "url" box, then type your desired display text in the "text to display" field.
As you can see it works. 
(I have deleted it, just was playing around to make sure I got it right)

There is no need to insert code into your posts to form a proper hyperlink. Just use the LINK tool as shown by Dave45681.
