OGR is very happy to announce that Jeb Kriigel is introducing his new company..."Proto Locos"....to our membership and is now joining us as an advertiser and forum sponsor with this new venture.   As I talked to Jeb today, he shared some interesting information....quote:

"Not everyone knows that for several years M.T.H. has been producing scale-wheeled locomotives for the O scale (2-rail) and 3-rail scale enthusiasts. These models have the -2 ending product numbers and in addition to the scale wheels they have other fine details and features like fixed pilots. In the past it has been difficult for scale customers to find information and/or purchase these items since many dealers chose not to carry or promote the product since it is so unique. Consequently, in the past, these particular models have been produced in very limited quantities due to the marketing gap within the hobby. Proto-Locos intends to fill that gap by being the go-to guys for the -2 locomotives and we will provide excellent service through product information, product searches, order reservations, and sales."

This is certainly exciting news and we look forward to Jeb's success in providing this much needed service.  Please take a look at his large banner ad located in the fourth row for more information.  We invite you to join us in welcoming Jeb and Proto-Locos as a new forum sponsor and magazine advertiser...

Thanks,
Alan

Glad to have Jeb on board.

Chuck

I really hope they do well.

I have been noticing a lot of -2 cancellations by MTH lately. If that isn't bad enough, MTH is now cataloging PS3 versions of engines that had a -2 scale wheel version when they were PS2 but they are not offering a -2 with PS3. This has me concerned. I hope that they continue to offer scale wheels. I think the litmus test will be whether or not the next newly tooled engine (44 tonner?) will have a -2 or not. Fingers crossed that it will.
