"HONGZ" stands for HO scale, N scale, G scale, and Z scale.

Post your non-O scale stuff here!

I have a chance to pick up a LGB digital command control engine and the command set.  Has anyone used their system.  From what I have gleaned from research, it seems a little convoluted.

If you have had experience with any part of their system, I would love to hear about it.

Thanks,

Don

LGB's MTS (Multi Train System) was produced by a company called Massoth in Germany. I believe Massoth is still in business. MTS went away when LGB was taken over by Marklin around 2006.

It was a DCC based system that was tweaked to LGB's preferences. I believe Massoth sells products that will work with it. Here is a link:

LGB MTS is just a primitive form of DCC.  It’s not worth investing in these days. You should be able to run your MTS engine with a standard DCC system although if it has an older decoder you might need to use 14 speed steps.  MTS sounds sometimes require serial command.  As in you would push F1 three times to activate the F3 sounds.  In general you should be able to run any MTS engine on a DCC system or off track power.
